Yeh, she mentioned she has danced for many years but I think Salsa is fairly new to her, but I'll bet she is a great dancer. I have done some basic Salsa, would need to brush up on it again as it's been a couple of years. There is plenty of it here in Edinburgh, and all over the UK infact, nearly every night of the week there is Salsa happening here. Great fun and a very good way to keep fit, it beats pumping weights IMO.
It was once a missconception of mine that Salsa was popular all over in Spain too but it is South American. I had a girlfriend from Cadiz, I've been there a few times and there was only one Salsa venue and was only on once a week, so not as popular as it is here.
If Merri makes it over and then on to Scotland I'll take her to one of our McSalseros nights......
