How sweet! Always thinking of the alternatives. Never been to Applebees.
I go out to eat maybe twice a year, usually with my daughter and her family. I'd still rather just go for a nice walk and munch an apple. Or sit by a campfire and drink a cup of tea.
imsophie1: I am horribly romantic. The little things a SO does are the things that thrill me. And I love doing romantic things for that special someone. Unfortunately, romance is a dieing art. In my time on dating sites I've discovered that relationships are now simply business transactions. Few are willing to put much effort into a relationship and even fewer would be willing to make any kind of sacrifice for another. They just move on to someone who does not require even the smallest sacrifice from them.
We now (apparently) live in a disposable world of instant gratification. It's all about "me, me, me". It seems that people's own wants, needs, and desires are THE top priority in their lives. If all of their wants, needs, and desires are not met, they move on. How sad.
The world is full of romance. But we must be able to understand it for what it is.
Don't just look: see. Don't just listen: hear.

I feel the same exact way on this topic!
Hi Larry! I find myself crawling out from under my cloak of invisibility a bit more often these days, but I still don that cloak too frequently. Old habits die hard, but I learn so much by being invisible.
