Our seniors say that technology is the artificial enhancement of human power. It should make us stronger and smarter, however our demented community is discovering that it now has the opposite effect. The improved cleverness and flexibility of our machines have caused social chaos and economic stagnation. I am also of the same view. Today's man is just thinking about self interest. He has no time for others. Maybe 2% to 5% people think for other which is decreased ratio. What do u think???
This poll has been up for a while, and no one has responded. Perhaps we're not sure about your premise?
At the moment I'm staying with some friends in Australia. A normal family. I'm not normal, and I don't use technology in the same way they do. I'm a software developer. A content CREATOR.
So it's interesting to see how much time and effort they invest in technological distractions that aren't productive. Mostly games, 3D worlds, etc. The family dog is neglected while the child is engrossed in her Nintendo DS.
In Asia, I saw a lot of young people wasting their time and potential with excessive computer games. When I was young - I used to write computer games.
But normal people with an IQ below 135 or so will always be normal. If someone is not clever or creative, we can't expect that plugging them into a machine is going to make them smarter or better - can we?
Are you saying that technology causes self-interest?
While living in China, I noticed a lot of self-interest, but not so much technological competence or advancement.
Perhaps the situation you describe is localised to Pakistan? The "social chaos and economic stagnation" - can you elaborate?
