Oh My Gawd...my long lost brother 
a lot of posts seem to be projected around people living alone..with there children...
however my daughter lives with her mother..not by choice mind!
i see my daughter weekends but when i have to take her home to mother it destroys me..EVERY TIME
my feelings towards her never change from day of birth..
so because of the bond we have...which is evident if you saw us...
am i a single parent to?
or classed as another bum thats left his kids?

If it wasn't your choice for her to live with her mother and you do everything in your power to help support her no matter where she lives than in my eyes you arent a bum....my ex cheated on me, has our son every other weekend, then has tried many times to get it so our son is with him more. He can't hold a job...pays little to no support....and i get penalized for having a good paying job. Think you are just fine. Hang in there.

A close friend of mine lives separealty from his kids...he is one of the best fathers that I have ever come across.Men do get a hard time about moving out, yet sometimes its the best thing that could happen to that couple. I see friends parent their children in seperate homes and are doing a fine job of it, if anything the dads are, in my personal opinion, are the better of the two for parenting

In our household (growing up) we had to hand in our wages from part time jobs, had an oppurtunity to run the household, which created essential lifeskills. It got us all out of the house by 18yrs
