Big_John: Most ladies at my gym come with their hair done and makeup on...this gym has a different character than most I have belonged to.

I'm telling stories on my gender here, but there is a trick to it. You gotta hang out a while. They sweat you know (if they're really working out) and they wipe with the towel... The makeup comes off.... Hang around long enough, you get to see the real person underneath... wink

I have heard more than once, that people tend to put their best foot first. It means that there’s a bad food as well, just the owner isn’t in hurry to show it.

Yes, of course the first impression matters, but one should keep in mind that if you are about to establish a long-term relationship, then you’d better be prepared to deal with both his feet. For me it means: don’t rush with judgments and jump to conclusions. Give it time, wait for the second impression.

I dont agree Your first impression can be good and the last impression can be awful and people can change from the first impression you may have had of them and people can look one way but when they open their mouth it is another impression you may have so dont put to much in the first impression get to know them a little chat with them get a feel for where they are coming from conversing handshake

I find everything you said believable and I agree with it, but you have to feel that initial spark between the two of you from the beginning. I don't think for me it could ever grow. I could become friends with someone without the chemistry and spark, but not into a relationship.

Zuleika: If you are not looking for an attraction, but just meeting people in everyday life, and you meet someone, through friends, or work, or an organization you belong to, or a neighbor, you may not feel that spark or chemistry. But, when you get to know the person, you can become attracted. I think about people who depend so much on the 'spark' and most of them either have short lived relationships or are divorced, so I don't get why they think it is so important, more important than getting to know someone first. If the only way you meet women is by the internet and a first date or meet thing, and you think getting to know someone can be a waste of time, that's too bad. Really too bad.

I agree.....and while first impressions are important other things may be overlooked with this quick decision....in order to get to know someone really well and find out who they really are you have to spend a lot of quality time with them.....sometimes what is on the inside can be much more beautiful than what is on the outside.....bouquet
