To all you hater's, just remember I could Only put the best nine on my poll... Other Honorable mentions: Joe Nameth Steve Young Tom Brady My at the office friend said to include Otto Graham?
It's tough to pick the best, they were/are great in there own ways, but I will say I enjoyed watching Fran Tarkenton for his wild scrambling ability. Daryl Lamonica (the mad bomber) was another favorite to watch.
I like a Q back that can scramble, I always remember both Terry Bradshaw and Dan Marino dragging defenders with one arm and trying to throw with the other>
John Elway....winningest quarterback of all time when he retired, only recently surpassed by the ageless Favre.
A couple others that might rival some on your list: Sammy Baugh, Dan Fouts, Warren Moon. If Moon's CFL stats were counted by the NFL, like former AFL qb's stats are included, he would outstrip most of those on your list in every career category. And how about Jim Kelly? Four conference championships in a row leading a revolutionary no-huddle offense, that's a claim no one else can make.

Joe Kapp and Roman Gabrielle were two tough quarterbacks back in the day. Billy Kilmer was one crazy son of a gun too.

Yeah, it's hard to argue with those candidates. Many greats through the years.
I remember Dan Fouts and Warren Moon Don't know of Sammy Bough? No huddle Office- if you can't win the "BIG ONE", then at least come up with something new and practical...
Yea like NO reaching from behind with hands down around their hiney/crotch, claiming to be looking for the ball to snapped... Wait! That didn't sound too good?

That's Ok... most of what he's been doing doesn't sound too good!
AsleepInNJ: he's not the brightest bulb in the batch but he can throw a football pretty good so he wins.
My last boyfriend was from Pittsburgh, so I got to watch a lot of Steelers games this past season. Ben is remarkably accurate with the ball-- but it's such a shame the way he is off the field. I hope Polamalu is cool in person. I really love watching him play.
Dunno. Have always wondered though why a sport where people touch the ball 90% of the time with their hands is called 'football' . And why in the same country the sport where people touch the ball 90% of the time with their feet is not called 'football' but ... 'soccer' .
Has to be Montana for myself, but then being a 49er is there any other choice..
Am curious though as its been a while since I really followed the NFL, has the re-organisation of the leagues and team changes worked and improved competitiveness??
