Many members of the Royal Family visit Ireland on a regular basis. They just don't let people know they are here, and rightly so. I only know because I have family who protect them from time to time.

Personally I think it's too soon for a formal Royal visit. We seem to forget that 6 counties of OUR Country is STILL part of the British jurisdiction. Unless she is coming with the intention of returning those counties with innumerable apologies for the transgressions, torture, and the 1.5 million people allowed by that establishment to starve to death - then I see no point in a Formal Visit.
Our freedom was bought at a huge cost over a very long time - we have no right to dance on the graves who paid that price, in ignoring or simply confining the past to the past, without proper recognition of responsibility by the aggressor.
The Crown through it's Parliament has very courageously taken the first step in recognising the callous murders committed on Bloody Sunday, by accepting their responsibility for it. The making of a sincere, unequivocal and unambiguous apology, has certainly started to pave the way, but to borrow the words of Churchill "This is neither the beginning nor the end, but, it is the beginning of the end."
Let the Crown first, extend the hand of friendship through appropriate actions and words, and it will gladly be accepted - until then, it is too soon.
