DadofDucks: I think there was a city Plato based his writtings on. I also believe he embelished on the truth a great deal and made i far more fantastic than it really was. He was a writter after all.
I think he very probably combined a few cultures and beliefs into one great city and then played off another event and ended his "story". The ending of the great city was a metephoric one, not an actual even.

I can run with this theory if anyone wants to hear it. Just come with an open mind and throw out what science and history has taught you. Get yourself outside the box. Not saying it's true, but why do so many people deny an alternate truth to what is forced down our realities with today's version of truth.....the rabbit hole gets deeper....take the red pill.....
