most of the wars in the history somehow related with the religion,so i think if all people belived only in one God ,there wasn't this much problems in the world. i think people dont need a religion to belive and love the God. people r enough intellegent to understand whars good or bad.we dont need a book written 2000 yrs ago to show us how to behave.

Humans, homo sapience the most intelligent creature in this world. Due to intelligence these species dominated the other species. But to tame this most intelligent species need more intelligence. Few person in this world have the skill to tame this intelligent species. They tame them in their own way, whatever was necessary for them for that particular time. As the basic instinct have not changed as per required level hence those theories are applicable till days. But some modifications are needed for the present context but it's needed because these is the only effective tool to keep peace in this world.
There would be something else for people to the point of war over. At least, religion is used as an excuse for war, and to justify war, though mostly war comes from greed (including new territories) or the desire for power, or a victimised group defending their rights and their territories.
So I don't really think that having no religions would stop wars and hatred, but if freedom of choice of religion was practised by all religious groups, allowing others to worship, or not, as they chose, then it may take a few years for people to find something else to fight over.
For a satire on how nonsensical it is to have a war because of different beliefs, read Johnathon Swift's satire, "Gulliver's Travels", where a war is fought over which end should be sliced off a boiled egg before being eaten.
No wars in history have been related to religion. Religion is an excuse, pure and simple, and a poor one at that. War is motivated by greed. Greed for more money, more land, more power, more "subjects". More, more, more. Human beings are capable of understanding good and bad, but our actions generally prove our understanding is limited and greed is more powerful. Our understanding is also hampered due to our "gift" of free will. We must own our choices and live with the consequences.
Religion is an organized and structured philosophy and is the product of the leadership of that religion. What is being preached and promoted is, for all intents and purposes "the religion". It can be positive or destructive and is not, in and of itself, either one.
Religion has been responsible for more horror, war and mans inhumanity to man than any force in human history. I will never understand how people can take the most sacred part of themselves and use it as an excuse to commit abominations upon others.
Ccincy: People always have to blame something for all the misery in this world.
When in reality it's people who start wars, hate etc.
This is true ...But religion is most often the excuse. The sad part is it goes against the tenents of most peoples faith. But all too often its manipulated for furthering a political agenda. Thats the biggest travesty.

time4fun4u: If people stopped using religion as a reason to argue.
There will always be corrupt people using the power of religion as a mechanism to control "the people" and manipulate behavior. As long as people can be motivated to act because they're assured "God wants them to ________ (fill-in-the-blank)", there will be someone using that to further their own agendas.
