Protest parties always do well during economic downturns and turbulent times, the same happens in most European countries.
The problem they now face is that they have now got a platform within the political establishment, so instead of protesting against everything and anything they may now have to come up with a coherent political ideology and some actually policies, if they don't, then during better times their votes drop dramatically.

Well, the whole election is a protest vote!
Oh, I think their platform is left wing. They believe the state is made up of people and that it's the people and not commercial business interests which are the most important. But if they get stronger over time, and I believe they will, it will have repercussions both in Europe and in the UK!
