Ok, I think we all accept that FG are going to get the majority and Enda will be the next Taoiseach but what will be the make up of the next government?
Personally I think it will be a FG Labour coalition with Enda as Taoiseach and Gilmore as Tanaiste. Does anyone else see a different outcome?

I totally agree with you for once but I won't be happy with the outcome like that

as i said on my thread, it's looking like fg on there own, they might not get the 42% ff got last time out but because they are so far ahead of there nearest rival 39% could on a good day bring an overall majority

Hopefully that doesn't happen,, last thing this country needs is a FG {farmers} dictatorship.
jimbo79: very good id imagine, kildare have had a couple of good minor teams recently
yeah, we have and great young lads coming through all the time, the set up over most grades is top class but I am not too fond of Alan Barry in charge of the U21's,, we have had a plague of cruciates in under age, junior and senior ,, think the training must be at fault. Havent been keeping up with Carlow U21 this year really,, what do think of their prospects ?

well last year was our best team as they were the lads that got to the minor final, this team has none of that minor team but 5 from last years u21 team that got robbed against dublin, going on last night we are contenders, but it's hard to know how good wicklow are, we have two very good forwards and solid backs and our midfield are working well together, westmeath would be my tip though for leinster
Most likely FG and Labour although FG may even get a majority on their own. FF and the Greens look to have been destroyed in this General Election which isn't surprising really. On the whole, the results (so far) have been pretty much as i expected. What i find weird is FG and Labour have spent the last few weeks slagging each other off and criticising each other's policies and then a couple of days before the election, they do U-turn and say they might form a government together?

Unfortunately FG won't get an overall majority, probably about 77 seats while Labour are looking ar around 38-40 seats, here's to a repeat of the disastrous 82-87 coalition. I'd soon go on with the FFailers than with that bunch of socialist left wing pinkos.
About 17% of voters still gave FF a number one vote, expect a large increase in the number of lunatic asylums in the next few years
Taureanmale: At least the Greens got shown the door. . . .now how do we get rid of An Taisce
Just ask the IMF.
Ivana Bacik failed to win a seat, mind you that eejit Richard Boyd Barrett will probably win the seat, DL-Rathdown has a history of electing far left lunatics. Gilmore in 1989 for instance when he was advocating communism been implemented in Ireland.
Myself I voted for Sean Barrett and Mary Mitchell O'Connor.

Richard BB is a 'celebrity socialist', the acceptable face of the far left. There was a joke going round that if he gets into the Dail he will be in for a shock, as he finds out that you're not allowed use a loudhailer in there!

He's nicknamed RICH Boy barrett and yet he'd like Ireland to become a communist state.
Having to choose between Hanafin and Boyd Barrett to be reelected, I couldn't think of a worse choice in DL-Rathdown.

There's another story about some journalist looking into the back of his car and seeing a whole load of blank placards. Clearly he didn't know which protest he was going to next so was keeping his options open!
I see we have the idiot son of Healy Rae down in Kerry! How many more bypasses/schools/airports/hospitals or senior citizens clubs do the 23 people who live in his constituancy need! At least he shouldn't have any leverage this time!

snowlynx: Sometimes I think we deserve all that's happened in this country!
Agreed If FG pander too much too Labour we'll need to get a proper right wing party, regarding Michael Healy Rae he's a prime example that a lot of Irish people prefer to vote thick gombeens over people with ideas and intelligence.
I serioulsy believe there is a strong anti intellectual resentment amongst a lot of Irish voters.
Tipperary South reelected Mattie Mcgrath and Tipp North once agin reelects Michael Lowry on the 1st count. Another constituency that must be plagued by morally decadent people.

Jaysus! Have ya seen the roads in Tipp? Looks like the tiger never made it there!
Really all thats happened here is we swapped Fianna Fail with Fine Gael, There is very little difference between the 2 parties so not much will change and voters were fooling themselves if they thought any political party will exert much control over our finances, The IMF are calling the shots, The Fine Gael/Labour coalition in power now are Lapdogs for IMF/ECB having said that its great to get rid of Fianna Fail, Us Irish are not like our European counterparts, They would be out on the streets protesting and making a stand whereas we protest in the ballot box and my did we give Fianna Fail one hell of a kick in the Ballots
