The Libyan rebells strangely do have a good sense of timing. They are laying out conditions for a ceasefire.

They say they will agree to a ceasefire if Qdaffi pulls his forces out the cities and town and allows peaceful protest. Right up the line of thought of President Obama and the west.

They still want him to go. But have not told the world were they want him to go.grin I think at this point, anyplace outside of Libya is fine with them, as long as it is much hotter.

Rebells were keeping Journalists away from the fighting.....and the fluid conflict lines in the Libyan sand are undefined. Already several journalists have turned missing.

Qdaffi's regimes seems to be leaving faster than he is. Two senior level advisors decided to come to the west for a holiday s and to give info on Qdaffi past terrorist connections. Am sure the Lockerbie bomber name has been dropped more than once in their debriefings.

So the speculation is that the regime is crumpling from within.
Yes.......Qdaffi has 1000s of supporters and two leaving is going to change this how? He will appoint the heroic 18 yo private to replace them and move on.

So will Qdaffi take the rebell up on their offer of a ceasefire.
The military side of me says no. His forces have abandoned the tanks and personnel carrier for private vehicles and have shed uniforms for civilian garb. This to halt the bombing of the US and others. They basicaly pulled a Iragi melt into the civilians.

Now they simply inflitrate a city or town...till enough forces are in in place to fight. So not much a guy at 40K at mach 1 can do here. This is the rebells cleaning up on the ground time.

That they are asking for a ceasefire is not a good. Shows that this melt tactic is giving them problems and they want time to consolidate their positions. So the military side of me, says Qdaffi will reject the ceasefire offer.

On the other side of the issue, Qdaffi is nuttier than auntie's Christmas fruit cake. So he just might take the rebells up on the ceasefire. If he thinks that later he will be in a stronger position to suppress the rebellion or there is vast international gain for him doing so. Or if it is his get out Libya card with his head attached and neck not stretched.

No word from either the US or EU on their position on the rebell offer of a ceasefire. Surely this is dicey diplomacy time. The US sent in Hillary to meet with the rebell leaders in London. So the west may already know about the ceasefire proposal.

That Qdaffi is not offering Disney movie and book rights on the last 30 days of Libyan history. Has to say something as well.
This has been a very bloody and deadly rebellion. The ceasefire might look good to him for world PR purposes.

Presently the REP nomination committee is so fustrated in attempting to figure out how is running in the 2012 campaign.
They decided to loo out side of the country. They figured if the
DEM can do it with Obama, they can do it as well.

Presently on the REP international Presidential nomination list

is:

Netyanhu of Isreal

Skarhozy of France

Merkel of Germany

Palin of Alaska grin

Medvedev of Russia

Interviews are being done.

The present thought in the REP party is that Palin/Medvedev would make a strong running pair for a opposition to the Obama/? team.
That they share a common border in the Bearing Straits means that they have worked together in the past.

What do you guys want.....it is April 1st.grin

Washington Times: (more great news about the obummer admin:

Barack Obama has some 'splaining to do about taxpayers' profitable "investment" in General Motors. It turns out the president is imagining things.

Though Democrats tout the auto bailout as a success, recent reports illustrate the taxpayer cost of the GM auto bailout was substantially larger than the Obama administration and a Congressional Oversight report has owned up to.

"American taxpayers are now positioned to recover more than my administration invested in GM,” President Obama said, according to a piece in USA Today last November. Steven Rattner, former head of the Treasury's auto task force agreed, telling CNN in November: “Recent progress at GM gives reason for optimism that it may be possible for taxpayers to get every penny back.”

In fact, Investor's Business Daily reported that even the White House’s Director of the National Economic Council remarked that the Treasury Department Department had a good chance in "recovering most, if not all, of its investment in" GM.

However, a March 16 Congressional Oversight report, tells a different story. It estimates taxpayers will be out of $25 billion. Additionally, the report points out that “full repayment will not be possible unless the government is able to sell its remaining shares at a far higher price.”

That's only the beginning. Both the White House and the Congressional Oversight report omit the fact that during its bankruptcy, GM got a $45 billion tax break, courtesy of the American people.

GM is driving “away from its U.S.-government-financed restructuring with a final gift in its trunk: a tax break that could be worth as much as $45 billion,
” reported The Wall Street Journal last November.

Over one year after the promises President Obama and his administration made about the auto bailout, a February piece on AutoBlog also confirms that GM will also get a $14 billion dollar domestic tax break:

Gotta wonder what Obama knew and and when? Gud bless Libya rolling on the floor laughing

Arab Banking Corp., the lender part- owned by the Central Bank of Libya, used a New York branch to get 73 loans from the U.S. Federal Reserve in the 18 months after Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. collapsed. The bank, then 29 percent-owned by the Libyan state, had aggregate borrowings in that period of $35 billion -- while the largest single loan amount outstanding was $1.2 billion in July 2009, according to Fed data released yesterday. In October 2008, when lending to financial institutions by the central bank’s so- called discount window peaked at $111 billion, Arab Banking took repeated loans totaling more than $2 billion.

Fed officials say all the discount window loans made during the worst financial crisis since the 1930s have been repaid with interest.

The U.S. government has frozen assets linked to the regime of Libyan ruler Muammar Qaddafi and engaged in air strikes against his military forces, which are battling a rebel uprising in the North African country. Arab Banking got an exemption that allows the firm to continue operating while barring it from engaging in any transactions with the Libyan government, according to the U.S. Treasury Department.

Gud bless Libya and Obama

Sanders Reacts
“It is incomprehensible to me that while creditworthy small businesses in Vermont and throughout the country could not receive affordable loans, the Federal Reserve was providing tens of billions of dollars in credit to a bank that is substantially owned by the Central Bank of Libya,” Senator Bernard Sanders of Vermont, an independent who caucuses with Democrats, wrote in a letter to Fed and U.S. officials.

The letter was addressed to Fed Chairman Ben S. Bernanke, Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner and John Walsh, acting comptroller of the currency. The figure refers to the aggregate amount of loans the bank received under U.S. lending programs. Arab Banking, known as ABC, owed about $4 billion to the Fed under other bailout programs in the fall of 2009, data released in December show.

“ABC has a robust balance sheet, is amply capitalized and currently maintains a comfortable liquidity position,” the company said in an e-mailed statement. “ABC currently has no outstanding loans under any Federal Reserve, or other, emergency lending program.”

Libya’s Stake
Jack Gutt, a spokesman for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, declined to comment. Arab Banking said Dec. 2 that Libya’s stake in the Manama, Bahrain-based lender had increased to 59 percent.

Washington (CNSNews.com) – A political review of open records requests smacks of “Nixonian” tactics by the Department of Homeland Security, House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said Thursday.

Two investigations found that Freedom of Information Act requests sent to the DHS were reviewed by Obama administration political appointees.

“Through the course of an eight-month investigation, the committee has learned that political staff under the DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano have corrupted the agency’s FOIA compliance procedures, exerted unlawful political pressure, on FOIA compliance officers, and undermined the federal government’s accountability to the American people,” Issa said.“These events have nurtured a fragile – and at times hostile – work environment that does not serve to fulfill the department’s primary mission to secure the nation from the many threats we face,” he added.

The department’s Office of Inspector General found that many records requests were filtered through Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano’s office.

Gallup Finds U.S. Unemployment Rate at 10.0% in MarchUnderemployment falls to 19.3% from 19.9% at the end of Februaryby Dennis Jacobe, Chief Economist
PRINCETON, NJ -- Unemployment, as measured by Gallup without seasonal adjustment, was 10.0% in March -- down from 10.2% in mid-March and 10.3% at the end of February, but above the 9.8% at the end of January. U.S. unemployment was 10.4% at the end of March a year ago.

The percentage of part-time workers who want full-time work was 9.3% at the end of March -- down from 9.7% in mid-March and 9.6% in both February measurements. The current percentage remains higher than the 9.1% at the end of January but lower than the 10.0% of a year ago.

Implications

ADP on Wednesday reported that U.S. private-sector jobs increased by 201,000 in March -- the third consecutive month at this level of job growth. At the same time, Challenger, Gray & Christmas showed a sharp decline in March U.S. layoffs compared with last year. All of this is consistent with Gallup's Job Creation Index, which has shown slightly more jobs being created and comparatively low layoffs during the first quarter of 2011.

However, contrary to the federal government's recent job reports, Gallup's unemployment and underemployment measures suggest that recent job increases have not been sufficient to significantly improve the jobs situation so far in 2011. Although both of Gallup's measures were marginally better in March, they remain higher now than they were in January.

The March improvement in the jobs situation compared with February may be partly the result of seasonal hiring patterns, with companies increasing their hiring at this time of year. However, the 2010 jobs situation didn't show substantial improvement until the second half of April. Regardless, the decline in the underemployment rate year-over-year is consistent with a cautious hiring approach in which employers avoid layoffs while taking on more part-time workers and limiting their hiring of full-time employees.

Despite the March uptick, Gallup's view of the U.S. jobs situation remains substantially less optimistic than the government's recent unemployment report might suggest. Added to this, late March Gallup Daily tracking results show a continuing decline in economic optimism, a pullback in consumer spending, and a drop in Gallup's Job Creation Index. This suggests that recent behavior on Main Street does not reflect the government's rosier assessment. It also implies that the recent marginal improvement Gallup finds may be more temporary than one might hope.

Survey Methods
Results are based on telephone interviews conducted as part of Gallup Daily tracking from Feb. 28-March 29, 2011, with a random sample of 17,811 adults in the workforce, aged 18 and older, living in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia, selected using random-digit-dial sampling. Results are reported in 30-day rolling averages.

Gallup classifies American workers as underemployed if they are either unemployed or working part time but wanting full-time work. Gallup's results are not seasonally adjusted and are ahead of government reports by approximately two weeks.

For results based on the total sample of workers, one can say with 95% confidence that the maximum margin of sampling error is ±1 percentage point.

Interviews are conducted with respondents on landline telephones and cellular phones, with interviews conducted in Spanish for respondents who are primarily Spanish-speaking. Each daily sample includes a minimum quota of 200 cell phone respondents and 800 landline respondents, with additional minimum quotas among landline respondents for gender within region. Landline respondents are chosen at random within each household on the basis of which member

Warning that destruction could be on America's doorstep because it oppresses “God's chosen people,” Minister Louis Farrakhan, the controversial Nation of Islam leader, defended Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi today, calling the U.S. action in Libya hypocrisy.

Speaking from the pulpit of Chicago's Mosque Maryam, the Nation of Islam's international headquarters, purchased 40 years ago with a $3 million loan from Gadhafi, Farrakhan blamed demons for altering President Barack Obama's moral conscience and driving the assault on Gadhafi, who he calls a brother.“It is a terrible thing for me to hear my brother called all these ugly and filthy names when I can't recognize him as that,” Farrakhan said to the crowd assembled at the mosque on Chicago's South Side. “Even though the current tide is moving against him … how can I refuse to raise my voice in his defense? Why would I back down from those who have given so much?” (I'm sure Obama probably has worshipped there too) <my injection :)

The following year, Gadhafi addressed Nation of Islam members via satellite, lauding Farrakhan for being a “courageous freedom fighter” who galvanized African-Americans at the Million Man March in Washington, D.C., and Muslims in nations around the world. During that speech, Gadhafi panned America for taxing poor people, who the Libyan leader said do not benefit from space exploration or support of “a Hebrew state.”

On Thursday, Farrakhan said scenes from an earthquake- and tsunami-ravaged Japan inspired him to warn the American people about an impending natural disaster that will punish them for their arrogance.

Farrakhan cautioned Obama that he was being used as a pawn to oppress his own people in Africa. He insisted several times that Jews controlled the media and pressured Obama to take so-called humanitarian action in Libya, but not in other places such as the Gaza Strip.

“The stupid mistake we make is assuming the president is the supreme power,” Farrakhan said. “The mad dogs are growling and grinding in Washington, D.C.,” referring to one of Gadhafi's nicknames, “Mad Dog of the Middle East.”

He commended former White House correspondent Helen Thomas for her honesty about Israel and the Palestinians and blamed the Jewish-run media for ousting her. He also commended Gadhafi for plans to nationalize Libya's oil industry to benefit his own people and other poor African nations.

“Gadhafi as a state leader made the statement that he was going to wipe out Benghazi,” she said. “The language was one of sheer brutality and taking no responsibility for protecting his people.”

Farrakhan projected photographs featuring Gadhafi in the cheerful company of European leaders including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. Brian Endless, an expert in United Nations and security issues in the Middle East and Central Africa at Loyola University, attributed the recent thaw between Gadhafi and U.S. administrations to their mutual animus for Islamic fundamentalism and the al Qaeda terror organization. Libyan intelligence enabled the U.S. to find key Al Qaeda operatives after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Kamm Howard of the National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America lauded Farrakhan for speaking the truth on Thursday. Howard said he believes the rebels are murdering Libyans of African descent and said nations who go against Gadhafi are guilty of ethnic cleansing.

“If one African person is being abused, we're all being abused,” Howard said.

Farrakhan never mentioned ethnic cleansing in his address. But he said he didn't fault Gadhafi for going after “traitors.”
Though most members referred any questions to Farrakhan's spokespeople, member Nathan Muhammad of Chicago said he supported everything the Nation of Islam's leader had said.

The political system of Denmark is that of a multi-party structure, where several parties can be represented in Parliament at any one time. Danish governments are often characterised by minority administrations, aided with the help of one or more supporting parties. This means that Danish politics is based on consensus politics. Since 1909, no single party has had the majority in Parliament.

Since 27 November 2001, the present Government has consisted of the parties Venstre and Conservative. Løkke Rasmussen, from the Venstre party has been Prime Minister since 5th April 2009
