If underage boy/girl approached you at the entrance of convenience store or market. And requested you to buy alcohol(or for simplicity say - just a beer) for him/her, what would you do ?

Since I have no reasons to want to go to jail, I will ignore the little kid or tell them to go away. I will not buy alcohol for minors...

thumbs up thumbs up

Here in the UK, you are liable to get a £1000 fine if you're caught buying alcohol for minors.

I tend to just tell them that I have no intention of buying anything for them. If they start to get mouthy, I just tell them that they're lucky they caught me off duty. That usually makes them leave the area as well for some odd reason grin

Oh, and no. I'm not police officer

I know in some cities/towns here in the US, they "set-up" little sting operations to catch those 21 and over buying alcohol for teens.

It's a fine and jail-time...no thanks.

This seems to be most general answer. Is it just fear of law which is stopping you from buying alcohol to minors ?

Fair enough question. NO. Certain privileges should be kept for adults, and alcohol, smoking are two I agree with being for adults only.

Back in the 1970's in California liquor stores would make deliveries. This almost came to a standstill because teens were ordering the delivery off their folks credit, liquor driver would leave the booze, kid gets drunk, liquor store got in trouble. I believe they put a stop to delivering this way. Not sure.

No, not only the law, but the type of child that usually asks for alcohol, is usually not the type that would be doing good deeds once they're drunk.

We have something called 'Safer Streets' in this village. It's a partnership between the residents and the shops that works in keeping it beautiful.

Having drunken teenagers vandalising everything, would negate all the hard work.

At times Paris is too touristy for me. I guess, for me it is not the place but people...If you find people that you enjoy, any damn place is wonderful....
