No, I would not stereotype all members of a certain society based on a few bad apples. But, how far is that rot going to spread? 
I forgot some of the details you made, otherwise I would elaborate better....but, I do remember I agree with everything you said. 
I have been going to the clubs down here for a little three years and have only witnessed this sort of behavior lately. Maybe, it is just a phase....perhaps the moon was extra full that night. 
But, to put life at peace...I am sure he was talking to somebody else. 
....heck yeah! GJ seems like he would be fun to hang around and he would have my backside covered.
