I'm glad to read that you are doing something about this. High blood pressure,diabetes,varicose veins,knee problems,heart issues etc. are all associated with being too heavy.

Does the potter blame the pot if it's cracked? God being the potter mixed the clay wrong,used too much water and left it in the oven too long and the thing cracked.
He made us imperfect so who is to blame here?
Free will? Naw I don't buy it,he gave NONE of us the choice as to wether we were born into this hard world or not.
In life you learn to run with the rats or get eaten alive by them..no free will there.

You are here for entertainment,to amuse,delight,anger,amaze and disappoint the creator.
"If" you lead a good life and are a good spirit in spite of all of lifes temptations...then you will be rewarded for all of eternity.
This is easily done by the great spirit that created the universe.(I'm not sure what to call him/her/it)
Your life does have meaning if you do something with it. It doesn't if you don't.
If you ponder this,then you are master of your own destiny.

Good blog,worthwhile subject. If it wasn't for the contributions of our elderly,we would not have what we have now.
Some of the aged do experience a lack of respect. They are weaker and are prey to bullies. Also some of them are not wealthy living on small pensions.
In many societies money gets you respect,lack of money gets you the opposite.
Some consider the elderly a burden on our healthcare and taxes. Some forget that the elderly rolled up their sleeves and with sore backs,built up the institutions we now have.
I like old people,they have lots of life experience that I can draw from. When I have an issue,I'll go to someone older and wiser than I am for the answers.

Thanks for the offer,very nice of you. But I lack the motivation to learn. I was going to bring this girl over years ago. So I tried VERY hard to learn some Tagalog. Without the motivation I don't think I would stick with it.

Is it anything like Tagalog? I picked that up easy when I was writing to this girl from Davao.
"Kumusta po sila kaibigan?" I used to know about 50 words but I forgot most,now I remember only about 20.

I look at work as freedom. If I amass enough money then I can be independant. I have no weekends as I work 7 days a week,but I work for myself out of my home.(garage)I can also take time off if I need to.
So in this way I feel I am working for me. If I can add to my property and do good work and garnish respect from people because of it,then I can feel satisfied and happy.
Only work can do this for me, so I do it with all this in mind.
Someday I will be financially independant(no mortgage )and I will be free.

You meet someone new,make new memories to replace the old ones.
Find someone who will make you feel better about yourself,and humanity in general.
Also in the meantime...use the old memories to try and figure out what went wrong. Learn from these and use them as a teaching tool.
Do this and perhaps next time it will all go better.
