RE: Gifts not Gift!

Guadal, thank you for the interesting linguistic information and for your thoughts! Not only at Christmas, but at other holidays too, I am shocked by the shopping hysteria. Presents/gifts are great but they have turned into something monstrous. People give several salaries for Christmas presents and start the Christmas shopping months earlier... Everybody is stressed with it, the long lists of presents and whether they will be liked or brought back to the shop. Why is all this? Is this the meaning of the holiday? dunno doh

RE: describe your life with two words......+++++

Thank you Non laugh wave

RE: the most bizarre prezzies...

Also, no kitsch objects like for example, tables for the wall with "wise" words like: "Don t take life seriously, you won t get alive out of it!"
Or cheesy ones like:

The sweetest
Sweet-Cotton candy? Nope!
Chocolate syrup? Nah!

Let me see.. How about sugar? Of course not!

There is nothing as sweet as you!

roll eyes uh oh laugh

RE: Gifts not Gift!

Hi Guadal,

The presents are the least significant thing for me at Christmas. I love the smell of the Christmas tree, of snow, of the Christmas menu, and most of all, that we are all together, my beloved family... wave

RE: weather

Snow, cold, sunny here :)wave

RE: "women members of cs ! beware !"

Jac will you spare us your unsupportable mentor s speeches all over the blogs? You are not our mentor. Period. doh

RE: Does age really matter?

Dear Sara, I have always preferred a bit older men, for the same reason I prefer tall men: to feel secure and protected. Of course, like Saskia said, maturity is not always a matter of age, but there is still a relation. My first bf was 5 years older (I was 16 and he was 21 when we met)and my ex-husband was 2 years older. The other men I was with were about my age, +- 3-4 years with the exception of two men who were 14 years younger than me (I was 41 and they were 27). Young men have many advantages but I d never want one for a serious relationship.
The very special man whom I met here, is 6 years older than me and has all the advantages of a mature man plus is in a remarkable physical shape cause he works out regularly and plays football and mixed martial arts. Perfect for me :) smitten love
