It's not about my faith! I'm perfectly content and trust a professional publisher's eye. This is their job and I expect them to be good at it. As I said, I'd rarely question other professionals.
Just, it can be easy for some to be blind about their own work - equating hours spent with quality.
Not everyone 'has a book inside them', and even with those that do, there is no guarantee that what they wrote is of sufficient quality or of sufficient interest to others.
Proofreading is a special skill. I have done it for a number of publications when I've needed the pennies. It is always easier to objectively read another's words and find those errors and ambiguities.
It's great that you've written too. I always encourage the creative side in people. It's a great channel for expression and much better than necking a bottle of wine or watching endless soaps.
Letters in different colours??? That's interesting. I'm also surprised that I wrote it 'correctly' from your perspective. I appreciate the positive words.
