The Holy Grail was a poem I once wrote on CS.
The words shaped a Chalice and I dedicated
it to my deceased Grandfather, Peter.
I could describe him in many ways but the significance is that he was a retired man who
was once an abusive alcoholic and gave the remainder of his later years in life to sobriety.
He mentored many, spoke in congressional
hearing in D.C. about this plight and farmers.
At his funeral 3 priests performed the mass,
as a member of the Knights of Columbus the
last chalice they would gift a missionary priest
was used during consecration and communion.
Many a church has since ceased using wine in
their masses out of understanding the conflict
of a recovering alcoholic to receive it.
This is love, transformation,sanctity of the body,
mind and soul if we accept our Saviour.
