Question....How would the hospital know that you were refused food to eat? Risk Management Team or not...unless food has been ordered for you...you will not be fed....again, I am splitting hairs with you GH but I am trying to understand where you might have gotten your knowledge of the homeless situation, police stations and hospital management? I want to ensure that I am perceived as "flying off the handle" when debating with you as I do know what it is I am speaking of.
Actually, splitting hairs here...but a hospital is NOT required to feed you....they do so to add to your bill....
And even saying that someone is desperate enough to go to the measures that you are now saying...where do you suppose the money comes from to supply that "cot and three hots?" (there goes just a little more money from social services to the jail systems)
Some do quite well being homeless, IF that is their choice to do so. I am not one who would do well and already know this of myself.
BTW~I spoke with a local officer here who stated that if someone came into their station and peed on their desk, they would not be arrested. They would be taken to the local emergency room to have a psych evaluation done on them. (during hospital emergency room visits ~ one is not fed) If the person turns out be "sane", then and only then would they be arrested for peeing on the police bench. But since it would be considered a "minor" offense, chances are they might not even be held long enough to get "that cot and three hots." They would be told when to appear for court.
I am not sure but I think it means that you need to update to the latest versions of yahoo and/or hotmail. If I remember right, I had to do it also a couple of months back.....try contacting yahoo support....
Again, I must disagree with you on that score. Communities can try and might think they are the front line defense but they aren't. Per our government, (or those that we, the people, voted into office), there are policies and procedures that must be followed in order to help those that need help. Each community has those policies and procedures and it goes from federal, to state, to city, to town, to individual.
We, as individuals, can try to help, (try being the operative word) but being the litigious society that we are, we run the risk of harming not only the ones we are trying to help but ourselves also. I will keep helping as I can and I would hope that others would also.
Community works up to a point GH. Each community, whether it calls itself a city, a town, a small town, a village, what have you, still has to deal with dwindling funding and the "egos" of those in charge. And yes, churches do also.
I have been homeless with two small children (as stated before) and funding for help goes by the financial year...which means if a person is lucky enough to have applied at the right time, they receive assistance faster than someone else who did not apply at the right time. Sometimes, a community just cannot help and then individuals try to help out their fellow man but they cannot do it all....vicious circle....
No, not always. It is a serious thing being homeless. I have been, with two small children. If you ask for help; sometimes it is available; most times it is not based on the needs of the individual (and their families) and the money that whatever agency is applied to for has left over from their grant funding.
Most individuals with small children that face being homeless are not homeless by choice and will do anything they can (legally) to obtain food, shelter and clothing for their families. They also run the risk of losing their children to social agencies because they have become homeless. It can be done...going to a shelter every night to see if they have room, working at any job you can, to get money, putting your children in daycare, and trying to save money.
OK...I did it and you did not think I would but I did. Somewhere during our cross purposes of trying to out-psychoanalyze each out, we sort of butted heads and hey! I am doing what you recommended and requested. Somehow, I feel both really proud of it and somewhat anxious but I will get over it.
Now that I have granted your request, will you please grant my following three requests:
1. Ensure that I finish this little journey with top marks from my hard work. 2. A J-O-B. Yes, I know that others are asking too but I have been patient for over a year and yes I enjoyed the vacay with pay but I am getting lazy. Even a part-time J-O-B would be great! 3. A date. One that includes actually dining in a restaurant (McDonalds and Burger King do not count or Whataburger), some flowers, and a walk along the beach.
Thank you for listening and really and truly I promise to be as good as I can possibly for the length of time that my attention span allows me to be.
RE: Do you really have the heart?
Yes I did!
