It happens all the time,we see it on the news,shelters can only take so many,plus you have to leave at 6am,where do they go then to stay warm,they can't check back in till 5.30 at night,if there are openings left.Who feeds and shelters the left overs,there are so many out of work,loseing there homes,where do the familys go..------ This thread is Archived ------

Sadly, we do not have enough shelters to accommodate the numbers of men, women, and children who need food, a roof over their heads, as well as access to toilets and clean water.
The homeless are forcibly ejected from campsites, libraries, and bus stations where they go for warmth and for toilet/washing facilities. They are roused from sleep on park benches, under highway overpasses, and from store fronts that provide some protection from the elements at night when the shops are closed. Many of them also suffer from treatable mental illnesses but have no access to the medication they require. Others are healthy and willing to work but are living in a broken down car and have no address to write on a job application and no access to a shower or clean clothes to go talk to a potential employer. I don't even want to start on the issues of families with children who are in these situations.
I don't have any answers. But the magnitude of the problem is staggering.

To be fair, I have to say there is a huge army of perfectly capable to work (to find work, and even working off the record) people who take a full advantage of the system and live off you and me.
I don't know why those who are in a really dire need don't have this financial help. A mystery to me.
