No, but I have been in a situation where I've moved to a new state. If I were to move to a new country, however, I would make sure that I learned the language spoken there. I don't have trouble meeting people, for the most part.
I don't see a problem with it, as long as the couple realizes that there may be others in the general area, and they exercise some restraint & respect for those around them.
I wouldn't call it 'pointless'. You are very new here, at least, in the forums. Sometimes things just don't happen miraculously. Hang around, join in, send some flowers, emails, & have fun!
