RE: Does a profile name affect your decision to initiate or reciprocate contact?

Hey, you're talking about Bubbles' fiiance there, JB!mumbling very mad laugh

Do you look your age?

laugh

One of the blessings of getting older - not being able to see yourself and others quite so clearly. Unfortunately, my eyesight's still 20/15.mumbling moping laugh

Do you look your age?

Well, that's part of the point of the poll. It's about separating our internal reality - the image we have of ourselves - from a more objective reality.

I've had the same feeling - glimpsing my reflection in a passing mirror or window and thinking: WTF? What happened to that thirty year old guy I was so sure I still am?

Do you look your age?

Somewhere in the mid-forties, I suspect, Flower, the real test occurs. You certainly appear to have passed it with flying colors!wave

Do you look your age?

It's good to see some people have the guts to publicly proclaim their opinion. Of course, Heart-Lease, in your case that really doesn't require much courage.wave laugh hug

Do you look your age?

Indeed. thumbs up

But 37 is so young that unless you've abused yourself your going to look good. The real test, I suspect, comes several years later...dunno wave

RE: After all this time....

Good suggestion, Flower - I've considered it, but am not quite ready to subscribe. The reason: I have a bloody hard enough time getting off the phone as it is. With Skype, I might never get off (well, in the traditional sense, of courseblushing)

RE: After all this time....

Sheesh, Claire. And I've been complaining about my trivial $300 phone bills. Ah, the price of love.mumbling wine

Do you look your age?

I agree with your evaluation, New.thumbs up wave

Do you look your age?

Just finished reading an article online about how people evaluate their looks with respect to their age. I'm wondering if CSers will confirm or deny the conclusion of that article.

I'd choose #1.

RE: Thoughtful Question

Well, let me re-phrase my question (which is rather different from what Scottishlass intended):

If you had a choice between being able to love people and no one being able to love you and being unable to love people but people were able to love you, which would you choose?

RE: Affirmation....From My Teenager

Jeez, High...and to think my son usually refers to me as "What a dork!"

High praise indeed.thumbs up wave

RE: Thoughtful Question

First, Beautiful, are those really your lips? Have you been channeling Angelina??wow

I'd like to ask a serious question, which I think may warrant its own thread (imo), namely: Exactly what value is obtained from loving someone? I'm not sure I see why loving someone makes you a better person per se (aside from the obvious provisos of the nature of that love and its context); I mean, what virtue obtains from loving someone? If you had a choice to merely like others or to love them, in what way would you be morally or spiritually bereft - or inferior to, say, beings that don't feel love?

These are very complicated questions which I'm guessing may not be appropriate for most of this list - they require far more than the usual bromidic analysis which treats the answers as self-evident - but I'm still interested in what people here would have to say...

RE: Thoughtful Question

Okay, let's make this a bit more interesting (since everyone's going to answer "they both go together").

What if you had to make an absolute either-or choice, and it applied to everyone? I'd choose to be loved - the alternative being far too frustrating.confused wave heart1
