Tehran seems to still be in civil unrest. One of the questions here is what is the rest of the country like? How wide spread in the civil unrest?

With the Iranian gov't stopping/slowing the internet, shutting down web sites, and other communication means prior to the election....seems to me the gov't knew civil unrest was coming in this.

These things are not done in vacum, where the gov't does not have knowledge of what the going on. Iran was ready for the civil unrest
to a degree,

One thing I noted....none of the security force or police in Tehran was armed with a lethal weapon...night sticks and mace is all I saw. The protester were not armed either....but a lot of rocks are in the air.

Foreign gov't seem to be staying neutral on accepting the election results. I read one article on the US.....titled "US Rejects Iranian Election". Read the article, none of the quoted American parties said that specifically. Most said "we are waiting to have the fact established"

Quite a different thing.

Pres. A and Khominie cannot disavow the reform party. There are simply to many of them. They have to come to some agreement or joint gov't with them.

The reformer are saying....that the last election some 20m reformers did not take part. Abstained in voting. But this year they turned out....but there votes are not showing up in the tallies.

Also the Iranian election officals are saying a extremely high turn out of 85% occurred. Mousiva is saying he got a phone call last night from the election office....telling him that he had won. Then a couple of hours later, the Iran offical gov't media was announcing Pres. A the winner.

The 85% turnout confirms the reformer's claim of a turnout. But the Iranian election is done with paper ballots. Each is individually hand counted. So it is tally is where the election irregularities can occur. Also box stuffing is a possibility.

Such a set of conflicting announcements would almost certainly make for confrontation and street violence.

So?

Hang on to our hats. If Iran has the nuc hiding some place....good time to test it. It will force the neutral countries to make a decision to first recognize and then talk with Pres. A. Also if Israel feels threatened, political unrest is a heck of a time for mil operations.

McCain in office here to take them on.

Let us face it.....McCain has a ton more experience in dealing with touch situation than Obama does. Remember those years in a

A FOXX interviewer asked them which was harder....their time

When the Taliban was driving into the Swat Valley and headed to
Pakistan capitol.....the military here released video on our SOF (Special Operation Forces) units....that would have been ordered into Pakistan to secure the nucs.

These units usually keep a pretty low profile ....I suspect the video was release for a statement message.

Fallingman, you need to understand....the CIA is a massive organization. President Obama cannot be there looking over everyone shoulder. Personal initiative to put forward op plans and assessments is important to the success of the intelligence gathering agencies. Most of these eh woudl not even see.

But something as big as the Iranian situation.....would likely go to his desk for approval.

We teach even our privates in the military the importance of personal initiative in battle and in barracks. One famous statute at Ft. Benning....shows a WWII private leading a charge....all the officers and NCOs were down....he took control of the unit.....made a command decision that helped to win a battle.

CIA agents that operate in the field...have to have personal initiative and trust from the gov't leaders to use that initiative. They operate undercover, without a lot of direct control for months at a time.

Do they set their own personal agendas? Well more like they have a broad range of orders from agency and WH....that they act under. For instance....if one turns up a lead on a NBC sale....he needs to use personal initiative to follow up on it. To find out as much as he can. On the other side of the coin....a coup op of a gov't likely takes a sign off at the WH.

Nancy Polosi liar debate with the agency over the EITs...is s signal to the agents and op writers....to play it safe. To hold in check that personal initiative that can place you in the hot seat of review. She number three in the gov't...close to President Obama....has similar political values.

In the old days (seeing that we live in the Obama days), the CIA would be placing sets of contingency plans on the President desk
when events like Iran civil disorder were happening.

I don't think that we need to be concerned about that today.

With Nancy Polosi calling them lairs, the 'CIA thinkers' are sitting there going.....well it is an interesting geo political situation.....and....yes Iran is moving to have nucs.......BUT
I have this confidence issue with the Obama Administration.

I put out my 'thinking' on how to use this situation to the benefit of the US and world....it becomes public under this administration...I stand to lose a lot.

Nancy Polosi has done more to create career mice in the CIA than any other gov't leader in modern times. That President Obama did not criticize her words on the CIA briefings....told the CIA and other intelligence agencies...where they stood with the administration. Not high on the confidence list of agencies
that the administration would depend on.

HP is advertising a new 'touch smart' computer. It is really tempting to buy.....the thought of being able to reach out touch

Here they (business leaders) are there to promote the stimulus
packages/program....they hear money is leaking out it.....and no one asks any of the how, where, and who questions? Letting Biden off the accountablity hook that every business man has.

If this had been one of their company managers....he was saying 'we wasted money', 'some was scammed', and 'mistakes were made'....I guarrantee you questions would have been asked.

I was self employed....before this new administration came into office. I had carde blanche from earlier administrations to research areas and situations......but with a few more post like this one....I suspect I will be seeing a broom to push soon enough.

Did Obama sign off on the tax loop hole for HOllywood producers, just shortly after the election. A little monetray benefit for Mr. Moore.

And when Obama does the green energy sign off....former VP Gore....is going to be doing commercials selling solar panels..

So don't think that Moore or Gore....are into hard times at present.

It is getting ugly in Iran. Protests and clashes with police....burning tires in Tehran....Khomie says the country should now united behind President A (where have I heard that thought prior) and that it was divine assessment for the vote outcome.

Divine assessment, my ruby red behind. More like human hands in the ballot boxes after the polls closed.

Khomie blessing on the vote, means that if the protest get worse....the Republican Guard has his blessing to intervene.

At least it is starting (violence) prior to the present US Administration has said anything....so please don't lay this one on the US.

You all will never guess what just happened here.

In Florida, we have little lizards called Camalions. About 3-4 inch long. They have suction cups on their feet. I have seen one ride on the hood of a car going 60 mph.

Little critters never lose their balance and can climb walls straight up.

I just saw one take a nose dive outside the window. Straight down....5 feet from the wall.

I wonder what caused it to die or to take the header to the ground??

Maybe it is global warming???

Caused it to lose balance or die. Where is Al Gore and Micheal Moore when I need them to document a tragic event in nature????

This present credit crunch in my opinion, is off shot of the financial melt down of last year. As the banks lost liquity,
they have to search within the bank to find funds for making
their interest payments on accounts, wages, and other operating costs.

So one way to gain more funds....increase the interest rates on consumers.....but they need only to have good consumer accounts that are paying.

So?

They tighten consumer lending, increase interest on credit cards, reduce bad consumer accounts that are not paying, drop limits to those that are paying but have high balances already.

E.G. a consumer credit crunch.

Compare our political jokes to Letterman's Joke. Our Joke are about adults...engaging in perhaps one of the most inconsistant and humorous activities known to man. Politics. Letterman defames a young teenager to improve rating of his show. for monetary purposes. Letterman, I have learned always does a rehersal of his show. He planned and prepared to use the joke.

Our political material here is a little more unplanned and unprepared....more like amateur nite at the comedy club.

What I believe and what I joke about ....are two totally separate things. What I believe in is God. That I don't joke about. Human politics thought is well worth a giggle and grin.

And ....Dude.....please remember the number 87,215. The only one that is today accepted by the Obama Administration to the war death in Iraq. His two weeks to contest the figure is voer.

Looks like the Iranian election results, now kind of official,
62% for Pres. A and 35% for Mousavi....are going to be Pres. O
next crisis decision in foreign affairs...I think.

Does Obama say...the United States accepts these results OR does he say the Unites States thinks the Iran election was done with illegalities.

Mousavi is certainly saying the later. Tehran is bracing for riots and unrest caused by the election. The Revolutionary Guard is saying it will suppress any rebellion. The Mullahs are saying take time to release the official results, hoping to cool things down in the country.

This is one where 'words do matter'. If he says the results are illegal in the US opinion....violence in Iran is likely to break out. Hardline Islamics will say that US is causing the violence by disputing the Iranian election.

If he says, the United State accepts the result. Those of us that feel illegalities in the Iranian election did occur to get these results (my self included here), will knock him for not supporting democracy and democratic processes. That he doing it so he can engage Pres. A in nuclear talks.

In other words, Pres. Obama has his first lose/lose situation coming up in this term of office.

It is also obvious to me, that Pres. A and/or those in his regime placed Obama into this position. So from me, I will
knock a little but only with a soft touch.

There is the real problem....there are the real parties that stole the Iranian election of 2009. Pres. A and his regime. And if a group or a individual can steal an election.....do you want to trust them on nuclear materials and nuclear weapons agreements?

Pres. A and his regime are the ones that are going to cause
this country to go into violence because of their demand for political power and to export revolutionary Islam. These
are the real reasons that they stole the election with such fabricated numbers. All the pre election polls had this 50/50.
The post vote surveys had it at 50/50. So how does it end up
62/35???Unless a vast amount of ballot box stuffing went on???

The silence of former President Jimmy Carter on this will speak volumes. He has been a election watcher for many many years.
On this one, he is going to be quiet as a church mouse. Is my prediction.

Pres O is in the position....speak to a illegal regime about nuclear weapons and shake hands with Pres. A that stole an election to seal the agreement. OR condemn the election and place such a giant boulder in the path way to these talk occurring that only T N T will clear the path.

I know how GWB handled a similar situation during his last term in office. Americans would be proud to know that he severed relationship with the gov't that had come to power illegally.

Time for President Obama to stand for democracy or to stand for political expedience.

Here is what I think on the Dr. Tiller murder....and I will call it what it was....a murder.

Murder is wrong, morally and ethically. So I have no sympathy for the man that killed, Dr. Tiller.

But applying the same standard to Dr. Tiller, in regards that he too took human life in his 3rd term abortions procedures. I don't have very much sympathy there either.

In the 15 years of his career, some 60,000 3rd term abortions were done. Surely a man that is a skilled, educated and licensed Dr. can find other work in the medical field were he is saving lives, vs taking them.

To put it into the context of Iraq. Accepting the Iraqi gov't death figure of 87,215, Dr. Tiller total in aborted death would be over 2/3 of the war death in Iraq since 2005. Also consider those Iraq deaths are across the age spectrum from 1 year to 90 years. Dr. Tiller were all under the age of 1. All had potentially longer lives to livs.

I listened to a woman defend Dr. Tiller tonight on TV....by saying it is legal in Kansas to do 3rd term abortions by state legislation. It might be legal, but legal does not make it moral or ethical.jmo

This is a little more on the IG that was fired by President Obama.

The IG says he did nothing wrong. He made clear, concise and full fact statements of the AmeriCorp grant to the Sacramento Mayor and a School, Saint Hope. Some $847,000 were involved.

He pressed the US Attroney to file criminal charges. They did not.
But the US Attroney got a out of court settlement from both Mayor
and the school. Returning some $400,000 to the gov't over the next 10 years.

The IG had good work reviews. The US Attroeny said he was over zealous.....the Chairman of the school was delighted to see him go....no comment from the Sacremento Mayor.

WH is saying it is work quality issue and the President has lost confidence in the IG.

Remember the 7 US Attroney that GWB let go in 2006? Same kind of thing. GWB argued it was a quality of work that caused them to let go. US attroeny and IG are appointment of the WH with approval of congress. DEM congress that approved this IG.
