What right do we have today, to say....this man of 2009 should have economic equality (eg. greater or lessor share) with other American of the day? Is he better than the American of 1776? No.

Stress...where are the words "economic equality" in the Declaration of Independence? You cannot add wishful words to a founding document. "All men are created equal"....does not mean that my wallet and your wallet need to carry the same amount of $s.
And pursuit of happiness.....what is happiness to one man'e economic position is not necessarily happiness to another man's economic position.
"All men are created equal" according the little Supreme court rulings on it, I have read a long time ago....so maybe off here....refers to God created person that one is no less or more than another.
And Pursuit of Happiness...is an activity of the individual to seek a happy life. That government will not infrigin on that right.
The rest of the Declaration is mostly about when to overthrow a gov't that is being despotic and keeping such rights from the people.

Hey Dude, exit polls in the EU countries have right leaning and conservative parties taking major gains over liberals. Article says liberals are losing in all EU countries but Greece.
EU is projected to be 255-265 Right and Conservative TO 155-165 Liberal.
Seems EU voters are rejecting the bailouts and stimulus packages that the liberal gov't have been pushing on them.

YEP...The US is again out of step with Europe. With our DEM Congress and present Administration being liberal.....the EU will have conservative in gov't office to deal with. Meaning?

They let Lehman Brother fail after the Fannie failure, but then bailout AIG.....not once but 4 times to the tune of $160b. Bernake logic to the AIG bailout, is that with Lehman Brother failing the global financial market became very shaky. If AIG failed it would have thrown the world into a depression.
He used legislation enacted in the great depression to do a number of bailouts without today's Congress approval. Direct loans from the FED.
Bernakce says a cause to the reccession was foreign investment that came into the country, but was not reinvestment into safe markets and loans.
Bernacke supports tougher regulation of major firms. Bernacke also agrees the lack confidence in the system is a key cause.
According to Bernake, the first signs of recovery will be.
1) Return of confidence 2) Refinance of home loan at lower rate. 3) A large bank getting large private equity
He has confidence the US economy will recover and grow again.

Cristina, he told graduates of Wheaton college (?) not to seek high paying jobs....but rather take jobs of service and low pay. These college grads have been working low paying jobs to pay for college. Why take away a opportunities of income from them? Why ask them to non risk takers?
Now instead of spreading their wings and flying some (taking on major issues and problems)...he would have them to continue this non challenging career path.
But he would employee a 31 year old man (Mr. Geeser) without a graduate degree. Mr Geezer is in grad school.....to be Obama's choice to be the gov't man that reorganizes GM.
In other words he is selective in what work a younger person such asteem to. Some if his/her political views are approriate to Obama....he/she can expect a high profile position and challenging work. There are many thing that most American don't have. The average American does not have yacht, a personal aircraft, a mansion.

Why have a education, if all you can have is a subsistance lifestyle to enjoy it or to fully use it in?? President Obama has asked Amercain youths.....graduating from college to take low paying job. Some never grow out of a low paying job and take risk to become more. Hence they stay at or near the subsistance level of life.
They never take on larger and more challenging issues of life. When they only have a certain level of expectations to meet. Here new ideas, products, inventions that these would bring to the world are now lost. If you wish to keep the world economically stagnant, don't challenge people. Just let them have the base things in life to live; food, housing, base transportation. Don't expect or demand growth or quality of life, just give them the basics.
America is founded on individualism. That challenges one to be the best and to be a risk taker. Unique in his work and life style. An expression of freedom. A big difference to what is taught today in Europe and many US colleges.
I am for that. Most American women are naturely gorgeous. Now if we can get the mass retailers to close their cosmetic sections of their stores....we make a multi billion dollar cost saving there.
Just maybe most European countries are 1/8 the size of the USA. And the European model for smaller countries that a socialist/capitalist have been effective there.....is not going to be effective in a larger country.
