Nah Smokes...it's all so simple, if you are an experienced bachelor-chef-commando, steeped in the art of kitchen survival.....
Follow these instructions to tell if you have the right ingredients...
Feel the avacados..run your hands over them..don't let that hardened skin fool you....if it's not black, and gives slightly at the ends, it's still green....
Now, the mexican goddess is a little more challenging...but stay with me here......feel her avacados....run your hands over them....in this case, we're actually looking for firmness here....are they perky at the tips??....do they have an even texture??.....is your inspection accompanied by the sounds of giggling??....if so, they are perfect for immediate consumption!!....
....uses a handle like "SophiaLoren"....or "PrincessDi".......that's like me using a handle like "IndianaJones" or...."CrocodileDundee".....don't know why, but it puts me off....
Is it fuzzy photos that look as if they were taken in the back garden with an old Kodak box camera? Is it lousy grammar, and hopeless spelling? Is it the fact that she has 6 children, the youngest being 4 months? is it because she lives in Outer Mongolia, and the bridge is down...? Is it the fact that she drives a truck and shoots pool with the boys every night? or is it the fact that she tells already you in her profile that she's looking for a guy with lots of money?
I have never suffered from shyness, prolly the opposite. Confidence is usually a product of a supportive upbringing....methinks. Also, if you happen to get born with the genetics of Brad Pitt or his wife, you develop your own innate sense of confidence by the way the world reacts to you. But here's my free advice to any shrinking violets out there, who are chronically tongue-tied when it comes to breaking the ice....be genuinely interested in the other person. Stop thinking of what to say, and start thinking about what you would like to know about her/him....there is nothing more complimentary than to find yourself in a discussion with someone who is genuinely interested in who you are, and what you think.....remember, as Dale Carnegie said, the most important individual in the world to people, is themselves....it's so simple. But I have found that most people lack the real talent of being able to truly listen attentively, and then having heard, ask questions about what has just been said. Your expertise as a conversationalist is directly proportional to your ability to listen.
Sheepdip??...hmmmmm...sounds tasty....how do you make that??
This is becoming "Bachelor's Kitchen Corner"...so let me add another lil' recipe to make the home and hearth of the bachelor that much more comfortable and low-maintenance...
"Swiss Breakfast"
1. Make coffee 2. Open fridge door 3. Take out huge slab of nutty chocolate 4. Eat while enjoying your coffee 5. You're done
Ohmagawd!!!.....finally, finally, finally, a good-luck story with a happy ending!!.......I was beginning to think that this was "The Place of Tears"....a hunting ground for cupids with lousy aim, a cemetary for broken hearts.....Thank you, Dragonfly, for saving us from a fate akin to death....hopelessness. How nice to hear a happy story......congratulations, may you long stay together, and may the sun never set on the glow of togetherness....
Select 2 delectable tins of finest tuna... Twirl in one's fingers while perusing said label, a look of critical appraisement on your face, while your other hand strokes your moustache..... With a deft twisting of the right and left hands, open the tins.... Select a special Migros Ready-Mix Green Bag of salad from the fridge.... Open and dump into last night's unwashed pasta bowl..... Empty contents of can over the salad.... Add a can of peas... Add a can of maize.... Upend a bottle of Balsamico over the lot and sprinkle while nonchalantly looking in the other direction.... Have at it with the salt and pepper mills.... A dashing of "Mix Pour Salades" herbs.... Open the plastic container with the remains of last night's pasta in it... Throw that in too....Ask your friends to come for lunch....and to bring a bottle of wine... Eat and be happy....
