both if u can.. seen jason byrne live and most of his set that night was nearly all improvised... if ur worried about going to a comedy show and being picked on my the comedian, avoid him... he's hilarious but doesn't hold punches if ur unfortunate enough to catch his eye to take the piss out of..
well look at americans like tina fey, steve carell, bill hicks, will ferrel, lenny bruce... hardly 'dumb' comedy... but i can see your point to a certain degree... a lot of comedy tv shows in the states are dumb... but look at the office, or south park, or omdern family or some amazing stand up comedians in the states
Love comedians who push the boundaries!!! The whole idea of comedy is to reflect back the things most people wouldn't say. Bill Hicks, Tommy Tiernan, Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor, Frankie Boyle!!
was watching it.. really good... didn't see catholicism, baptists, protestants, hindu, islam etc being talked about... funny that we see certain religions as okay, but other ones as cults!!
