well obviously we can't know the full story of what's going on, but i only buy for people at xmas that i actually speak to and care about most days of the year... if i have to wait to xmas to tell someone i 'care about them' then chances are i don't really care at all... xmas should be given over to people who you care about and more more importantly, actually care or give a damn about you... let em go annie..
i reckon a phone call or an email on a day that's not designed for people to keep in touch would show that you care about them more than a christmas present ever would. I mean if you have to wait till a birthday or christmas to show you care or still think about someone then perhaps you don't care about them as much as you think you do!!
i mean, if im out with my mates or a group of people and we're discussing something or whatever, if any of them turned nasty i wuldn't involve myself in that discussion anymore... don't see why it should be different on here..
just a bit of respect, manners and common decency are lost to some people on here.. they seem so filled with hate and self-loathing that it's easy to sit in front of your computer where u don't have to answer for ur actions and that's the worst sort of person IMO... i wouldnt surruond myself with people like that in real life, so i'm not gonna do it here either...
na.. i won't be using the threads much anymore... this place can be a cesspit of hatred, nastiness and ignorant arrogance!! sure there are lovely people here too but too many people here who ruin it...

well that's where i do have some experience.... i was in a serious relationship with a single mom and know all about the ex being in the background... it's a tough situation... as i explained in post earlier in response to fifi...

and agreed, i do hope i'm never in such a situation... i'm just speaking as a single guy that i would not be comfortable with someone else's ex been seen as 'family'... true, i can only guess at how it feels to want to do the best for your kids.. seeing as how i don't have any of my own i can't offer an opinion.. was only offering on an opinion as how it would affect me as a single guy if i was involved with a single mom and the kids father was still on the scene
well i think it's great that you have such a great relationship with ur ex... but i would guess that most women (whether they have kids or not themselves) would not be too keen on you having your ex over for christmas... or the fact that you still consider ur time with ur ex, time spent as a family!!
i can see where you're coming from and yea it's great that baldy has a good situation with his ex and his kids.
But, for me, I would always feel like i was coming second... i'd like to be in a relationship where she was my number one and i was hers. then when we had our own kids together, our kids would be a shared experience and a shared responsibilty and a shared joy.
I just wouldn't like to be playing second to her ex's needs to be with his children at xmas or birthdays... that's not me being insensitive or immature, that's me wanting what i want and being able to give that in return.. which i think is pretty reasonable..
couldn't do it, man... i wouldn't be comfortable with the idea of my girlfriends ex coming to spend christmas with us and her kids... to much of a possibility for drama and such...
