"otherwise we wouldn't be observing it as such; but belief is little more than path of philosophical choice derived from prior observation."!

I would disagree, as it's possible to park your mind, also it's possible to just observe it, direct it so it's not just an out of control locomotive.
Thoughts are thoughts any gaga you like unless tamed. Otherwise it is just a form of mindlessness. We don't need to grasp onto our thoughts. Though many people do grasp onto our thoughts doing so is driven by grasping our ego. The incorrect perception of a self "I" which is a nonsense, our true nature is moving energy.

Deterministic matrix
Spacing's between the lines in the spectrum of a heavy atom should resemble the spacings between the eigenvalues of a random matrix relates to atoms and not thought. Thought isn't just an inevitable consequence of antecedent sufficient causes, mindlessness is.

I believe quite a few school teachers wouldn't agree with you, given there super saving were all lost, secondly you readily access the funds, got turn 65 or 70 or something, thirdly most super funds have failed to accumulate interest on the savings at all.
In my opinion better off purchasing single premium assurance policies, least then you have access to at least some of the savings, usually could access up to 90% the next day.

The moment anger arises for example, commonsense goes out the window...

Harshly judging the karmas of other is just plain stupidity...each and every one of us have been sowing the seeds of our tomorrows since beginningless time, at the vary least each of us have had different life experience in just this one life time, they shape our backward thinking thought process valuations.
e.g Bush x2 i've no doubt thought were doing right in foreign policy management, while most people would see there moves as complete stupidity.

How the thoughts arise is of lesser value to my thinking, as its the outcome of whatever action we engage in that matters. The outcome is directly link to our motivation...

Constitution says: -
100. The Commonwealth shall not, by any law or regulation of trade or commerce, abridge the right of a State or of the residents therein to the reasonable use of the waters of rivers for conservation or irrigation.

You might advise the State Government that you have decided to redirect the water into the creek away from your drainage system as a conservation measure

RE: The ALTERNATIVE FREE DEBATE thread about the QUEEN,,

Yes but only because some were born out of wedlock

Alexander of Hesse-Darmstadt was in 1851, a morganatic marriage with Countess Julia Hauke ??; closed (* 1825 † 1895). She was the orphaned daughter of Deputy Minister of War of Congress Poland , Count Hans Moritz Hauke ??, and maid of honor of his sister Maria Alexandrovna , wife of Czar Alexander II, his offspring from this socially unacceptable marriage were not entitled to inherit the Grand Duke of Hesse throne. Grand Duke Ludwig III. of Hesse and by Rhine ( Hesse-Darmstadt ), brother of Alexander, Julia Hauke ??bestowed on 5 November 1851 the orphaned since 1310 title of Countess of Battenberg. In 1858 he raised them to the Princess of Battenberg. The Grand Duke wrote about the new line of Battenberg, the Heiligenberg Castle , which had come into his possession by inheritance, and so to their "ancestral home" was. It is situated on a promontory on the mountain road , in the church today Seeheim-Jugenheim .
The British branch of the family took the name Mountbatten 1917, a translation of the German Battenberg. This played political reasons, which resulted from the increasing German hostility in the time of World War II, a role.
According to a somewhat vaguely worded decree (Order-in-Council) from 1960 is the name Mountbatten-Windsor, the personal name of certain descendants of Queen Elizabeth II and Philip Mountbatten, Duke of Edinburgh . remains the official name of the royal house However, Windsor . The new name also does not apply to members of the Royal Family who are not descendants of Elizabeth II. The Order-in-Council applied the new last name for descendants of Elizabeth and Philip, do not carry "Royal" title, but is apparently used by all their descendants in the Royal Family. Both Prince Charles and Princess Anne were to be Mountbatten-Windsor in the marriage register. The members of the House of Mountbatten-Windsor not belong genealogically to the house of Battenberg, the appointment is due to the association of the Philips mother, the Duke of Edinburgh, to the House of Battenberg. Philip wears his father's side as the Prince of Denmark and Greece, the family name of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg .

RE: The ALTERNATIVE FREE DEBATE thread about the QUEEN,,

It appears to me very confusing who was married to who, including Princess Alice of Battenberg

On 7 October 1903 Princess Alice married Prince Andrew of Greece , the fourth son of King George I of Greece and his wife Olga Romanova Konstantinovna and grandson of Christian IX. of Denmark, the father of Europe . The ceremony in Darmstadt took place three times. First, was a civil ceremony in the Old Palace at Luisenplatz , then followed the Protestant ceremony in the castle church, and finally the Orthodox in the Russian Chapel . From Russia had for the Orthodox ceremony valuable crown of Catherine the Great brought, which, like the Orthodox rite were usually held only on the pair. From the bride is told that it's "yes" and "no" mixed up and brought the wedding guests laugh, because she said that she had already taken and did not want to marry Prince Andrew.

RE: The Illusion Of Free Will

Of course there are as many views on the nature of mind as there are people thinking about the subject.
I spent a number of years off and on sitting before various Tibetan teachers, including Dalai Lama Rinpoche. I can't say i know but its my understanding the 14th incarnation of Dalai Lama is in part recognized as Dalai Lama has provided he is the continuous mind stream of the thirteenth Dalai Lama, at a very young age a Lama and a Monk located the Dalai Lama in the Amdo Provence. They had switched rolls with the Lama masquerading as a Monk, one or other held the 13th Dalai Lamas (current DL) prayer beads, which the young boy snatched from him claiming the prayer beads were his. Other checks as was custom were also carried out as well.
The Tibetan term "Rinpoche" donates a person as the linkage holder of a teaching given in the reincarnates previous life.
I've read an account by an old Monk in Southern India who's teacher repeatedly up and died, then reappeared and continued teaching from where he had left off in his last incarnation. The Rinpoche did that a number of times according to the Monk, i can't recall the exact number but four or five times.

Tibetans perceive there is as much reality in our waking consciousness as our dream states. While however i hasten to point out they believe the nature of our minds is dualistic.

RE: Russian china veto help for syrian killings

Kashmir and Eastern Turkestan were the nearest Islamic regions bordering Tibet. It is said that Muslim migrants from Kashmir and Ladakh areas first entered Tibet around 12th century. Gradually, marriages and social interaction led to an increase in the population until a sizable community came up around Lhasa, Tibet's capital. There was no large-scale conversion to Islam though. Thomas Arnold, in his book, The Preaching of Islam, published in the early part of this century says, "Islam has also been carried into Tibet proper by Kashmiri merchants. Settlements of such merchants are to be found in all the chief cities of Tibet: they marry Tibetan women, who often adopt the religion of their husbands..."

Tibetan Muslims trace their origin from immigrants from four main regions: China, Kashmir, Ladakh and Nepal. Islamic influence in Tibet also came from Persia and Turkestan

Way back Afghanistan was a Buddhist country and so was India pre-Islam invations

RE: The Illusion Of Free Will

example

Form is empty, emptiness is form; form is not other than emptiness, emptiness is not other than
form… Shakyamuni Buddha
Among the most famous of all the Buddhist scriptures, the Heart Sutra reveals
the truth of emptiness through a short exchange between two of the Buddha’s
most illustrious disciples, Avalokiteshvara and Shariputra. Traditional
commentary expands on the cryptic style of the sutra to clarify the exact nature
of the wisdom realizing emptiness and the ‘method’ practices that are its
essential complement, relating these two aspects of practice to the five levels
on the path to enlightenment. The brevity and profound nature of the Heart
Sutra have made its recitation popular as an effective means for dispelling
obstacles to spiritual endeavor.

and another explanation relating more closely to our thought process can found be found on this page:-
(part of page text follows)

If your attitude in daily life is ignorance, anger and attachment, all your actions become
non-virtue and the result is only suffering and obstacles. If your attitude in life is nonignorance, non-anger, non-attachment, your actions become virtue and the result is only
happiness. From this you can understand again how suffering and happiness come from
your own mind, by depending on what kind of attitude you generate—positive or
negative. Therefore the happiest, most fulfilling and best life is one lived with the
attitude of cherishing and benefiting others.

RE: The Illusion Of Free Will

Noting exists from just its own side, so in what way does form exist?

RE: The Illusion Of Free Will

The Buddhist notion of emptiness is often misunderstood as nihilism. Unfortunately, 19th century Western philosophy has contributed much to this misconstruction. Meanwhile Western scholars have acquired enough knowledge about Buddhism to realise that this view is far from accurate. The only thing that nihilism and the teaching of emptiness can be said to have in common is a sceptical outset. While nihilism concludes that reality is unknowable, that nothing exists, that nothing meaningful can be communicated about the world, the Buddhist notion of emptiness arrives at just the opposite, namely that ultimate reality is knowable, that there is a clear-cut ontological basis for phenomena, and that we can communicate and derive useful knowledge from it about the world. Emptiness (sunyata) must not be confused with nothingness. Emptiness is not non-existence and it is not non-reality.....>
