Wildlife picture thread

Have tried to correct that long winded explanationwave

I think most credit belongs to the camera. I'll share what i recently replied to a friends comment:

Besides trying most days. I spent some time setting up the camera (months) so that I can turn it on and shot as quick as it takes the cameras auto focus to focus on the subject. To do that of course auto focus is a must have setting turned on…

Secondly the camera's settings I use are saved to a mode dial, therefore I know what the camera will do and don't need to change anything before I can take the shot, rather I know it will do what I've set it to do.
If I need some other type of setting I can change the dial to other settings like auto, scene, panorama or any other of the cameras factory preset templates stored on mode dials, I can use any of those without loosing my own customized setup up that I've stored and load on start-up.

Thirdly; importantly the cameras have built in super fast write speed ability mostly intended for recordings videos. I take full advantage of that providing and equall super fast SD Card (0.280 m/s) for the camera to write to.

All the later model cameras have an ability to write very fast to sd-cards, the Olympus and Sony both write at about 0.300 of a mille-second. The card I have accepts writing to up 0.280 m/s, Therefore as you can see in the quite recent Jacky Winter series of photos, posted in CS thread those were captured in one burst probably at SD card max, 0.280 m/s. Faster than our eye can see.
If I wanted to, I could hold my finger down and take about 100 shots in one burst or until the camera runs out of its memory.
Mostly I take three or five shorts every time I photograph any subject using my saved settings.

I often take more than 200 images, or anything up to 800 + pictures quite often.
Today i took none err.

Of course I delete far more images than I save, on average I'd say out of 500 images I might save twenty.
However when I am able to get close-up I get far better results and therefore tend to save more images.

Mostly i am using the Sony a7ii camera with Sony its 70-300mm lens. The Sony a7ii camera has five-axle built in stabilization, and the lens also has own stabilization built into it working in tandem with the cameras stabilization.
Directly pertaining to your comment Molly, regarding the closer up images, the Sony a7ii also has a x30 magnifying setting built into the camera that I need to manually turn on each time I boot the camera. Using that more often lately however images taken at longer distant tend to be a bit grainy, the closer in photos, like the Red-browed Firetail Finch (re-posted below) to my mind, come out really well. I'm very pleased with the cameras ability to churn images like those out.
In addition the a7ii camera and lens work quite well in low light the Blue Cheeked Female Rosella image above were taken in (low light) in that regard the Sony does much better than Olympus.

Emirates airline burns after landing / Chinese newspaper urges country to declare WAR on Australia

The Russian Defense Ministry said on April 5 that the airstrike near Khan Shaykhun by the Syrian air force hit a terrorist warehouse that stored chemical weapons slated for delivery to Iraq, and called on the UN Security Council to launch a proper investigation into the incident.

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was met with a stern scolding by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov Wednesday, as the two leaders convened for a full day of meetings in Moscow.

"I will be frank that we have a lot of questions regarding very ambiguous as well as contradictory ideas on a whole plethora of bilateral and international agenda coming from Washington," he said through a translator.

"We also saw some troubling actions regarding the attack on Syria," he added. "We believe it fundamentally important not to let these actions happen again in the future."

But Lavrov nonetheless expressed a desire to work with the U.S., especially on counter-terrorism issues -- something for which the Trump administration has also declared an interest.

"I believe that your visit is quite timely. I believe that it gives us necessary opportunity, as it was discussed by President Trump and President Putin, to have an honest and frank discussion to clear the outlook for the future of our cooperation, first and foremost on the wide anti-terrorist front," Lavrov said.

Behind closed doors, however, Tillerson, Lavrov, and their delegations may now be speaking frankly about critical issues -- not just the conflict in Syria and Assad's future, but also on counter-terrorsm strategy, the threat of North Korea’s nuclear program, and the conflict in Ukraine. Meetings are expected to last all day, and the two leaders will speak again in the evening at a joint press conference.

Russia's FM Lavrov said that Russia views the US strikes in Syria as a violation of law.

"I will be frank that we have a lot of questions regarding very ambiguous as well as contradictory ideas regarding a whole plethora of bilateral and international agenda coming from Washington," Lavrov said.

RE: North Korean Could Be Next On Trump's List: Next Time NUKE 'em...

"The head of the U.S. Pacific Command, Adm. Harry B. Harris Jr. ordered the Carl Vinson aircraft carrier, its fighter jets and several other warships toward the peninsula in order to “maintain readiness” in the region, the command said in a statement. The fleet had been heading to Australia to undertake military exercises."!

I think you might find a lady Vice Adm Nora Tyson is actually in command....Adm. Harry B. Harris Jr dances to her turn

The Third Fleet is commanded by Vice Adm. Nora Tyson, reporting to the U.S. Pacific Fleet in Pearl Harbor. Pacific Fleet in turn reports to Adm. Harry Harris, commander of U.S. Pacific Command, who ordered the Vinson group north.

RE: North Korean Could Be Next On Trump's List: Next Time NUKE 'em...

should have spelt : Buckley's which is a term often used down under
Not even a buckley's. No chance what so ever.

maxim payload of a Black Hawk including crew is 24 people. Obama and Clinton appeared on TV claiming to be watching real time TV of the event. Forum on here kept driving trucks through there story and they kept countering that by changing there story. Anyway its alleged few hundred yards down the road from Pakistan military base Bin Laden and his wife's were living in a compound and two story house on arrival one of the two Black Hawks crashed they murdered bin land and the other black hawk extracted both teams, the dog and bin ladens body then flew half way across Pakistan into Afghanistan

Anybody the believes the american version of events probably believes in santa claws and has lots of pixies running around in there attic

RE: BREAKING NEWS! POSSIBLE WAR?... AND HE'S DEADLY SERIOUS

A Kremlin spokesman said that Russia considers illogical to accuse anyone else of using chemical weapons without conducting an investigation.

????????? ?? ????:

RE: BREAKING NEWS! POSSIBLE WAR?... AND HE'S DEADLY SERIOUS

“Russia was warned by the U.S. of the upcoming attack, it explains why there were no Russian casualties at the targeted airbase. Russia had the capability to intercept Tomahawk, but chose not to.”

The designated purpose of the S-400 in Syria is to protect the Russian facilities there, not all of Russia’s allied facilities, which could explain the decision not to activate them.

RE: North Korean Could Be Next On Trump's List: Next Time NUKE 'em...

Perhaps you could suggest America print another trillion like Obama did and finally settle the US debit to china.

meanwhile you'll be happy to know the American Pacific Carrier fleet is Commanded by a Lady also the same Female Commander is in command of 3rd Pacific fleet as well.
and I'm sure we will all feel more comfortable over the health of the north Korean kids with her femininity calling the shots...

The US Navy has cancelled planned port calls in Australia for the USS Carl Vinson and is instead sending the aircraft carrier toward the Korean Peninsula amid concerns about new weapons tests by North Korea, military officials said.

The US military is sending the Vinson strike group, including the carrier and two guided-missile destroyers, to operate in the Western Pacific Ocean in response to Pyongyang’s recent missile tests.

There is widespread speculation based on satellite imagery and analysis that North Korea may try to carry out another weapons test in the coming days as the country prepares for its most important national holiday — the anniversary of the birth of the country’s founder on April 15.
