RE: Blah blah blah....

Just read it.

I see she won her case and now Stockport Council will have to pay all her costs and their own. Which really means it will come from my pocket!!!

The world's gone mad...doh

RE: Blah blah blah....

Two friends are fishing near a bridge.
Suddenly a Hearse and two Funeral Cars go over the bridge so one of the men stands up,
takes off his cap and bows his head.
When the cars have gone he puts his cap back on,
sits back down and carries on fishing.
His mate turns to him and says,
" Dave, that's one of the nicest most respectful things I've ever seen "
Dave replies,
" Well we were married for nearly 20 years "

RE: MORRISSEY - a dilemma

As with every original Smiths recording, the music of "Some Girls" was composed by Johnny Marr and the lyrics were written by Morrissey.

RE: MORRISSEY - a dilemma

I'm not sure how true that is. Although the fact remains, Morrissey tickets sell out quicker than any other performers, and have done for quite some time.

But there is no doubting Johnny Marr's pure genius...

RE: Bob Dylan.......What are your favourite lyrics ?

How many a year has passed and gone
Many a gamble has been lost and won
And many a road taken by many a first friend
And each one I've never seen again.

I wish, I wish, I wish in vain
That we could sit simply in that room again
Ten thousand dollars at the drop of a hat
I'd give it all gladly if our lives could be like that.

RE: would a book of your life's history be a best seller in a book shop??

It would have to be filed under fiction or I would almost certainly be arrested.uh oh

Many thanks to siacais for reminding me about about this Roy Harper song in the Irish forums.

"Well you can lead a horse to water
But you're never gonna make him drink
And you can lead a man to slaughter
But you're never gonna make him think"

RE: Landing on Moon: was that true??????

No deathbed confessions?

Sorry, I just believe there are certain things you just couldn't keep under wraps, and phony landings on the moon is one of them.

RE: Landing on Moon: was that true??????

If it were a hoax, how many people would have had to be in on it? A dozen? Fifty perhaps?

Think about it, it would have took sworn secrecy from hundreds, surely by now at least a small handful would have fessed up.

Why the sad flower lost?

RE: any one drinking?

Apart from the odd cup of tea or coffee, no drugs of any kind for almost a week now.

I should have a drink to celebrate my sobriety.

RE: I'll Kill - Paul McCartney

Many musicians, Jimmy Page included, have been quoted saying Roy Harper is one of the best singer songwriters to come out of the UK. Funny thing is, most people have never heard of him, but most people have heard him singing without realising it.

RE: I'll Kill - Paul McCartney

I remember hearing a radio interview with Jeff Lynne many years ago. He was talking about his time with The Traveling Wilburys. He recalled when someone mentioned the phrase "Tweeter and the Monkey Man." He said Dylan commented that would be a good title for a song and within no time at all, on the spot, he wrote and sung the song. Lynne said, from that moment onwards I realised Dylan is a true genius.
