As I´m not familiar with Brady Bunch,i can´t answer that.But,-every relation starts out thinking that everything will be fantastic,-of course,-we know,that´s not always the case....
Many thing´s can,and will,happen as the yrs go by..
But as a grown man with 6 siblings myself,-and not from a "happy" family,-at least I know myself,my family,my history...
Sad to hear that she was facing prejudice in school,-why?Not my business though...Yes,there´s many influences on a child,-but IF,a marriage between parents works well,-That has to be the best way for a child to grow up....Of course,we never know what happens along the way,-but IF it works,-that´s the best for any child...
Of course,-there´s no guarantees,that a family shall be successful....I know all about this,-but,-I know what I am,and what made me the person I am.....
Traditional,-in terms of mom,dad and children....What´s so wrong with that?
My dad was not a perfect one,far from it,he spent most time behind bars,-but at least I knew who it was....And that reminds of who I am...In my opinion,that´s important...
Amity,-can´t answer that..But,-when studies actually show,that kids are getting ill,-why not question it..A child´s wellbeing is more important than some single person´s desire to become a parent....
Jac,a good post..However,-a "real" dad´s at least a "real" dad,no matter what.I was raised by mom myself,and hardly saw dad,but at least I knew who he was,-and that counts...
Family portraits/photos brings back memories,good or bad,-but they´re a reminder of who we are,and where we come from... Family´s smiling into the cam,Mom,child(ren),-but where´s Dad? After all,-you can´t have a test tube posing as Dad,even though he is one....
Insemination,-many reasons for it,and it surely has helped many people to fulfill their dreams of becoming parents... But when that becomes an industry,and when young,fertile women chooses to inseminate,because they´re eager to become Mom´s,wwith or without a partner,-is that a reason to question the logic and morals behind this?
A controversial topic,and probably there´s no definite answer,-but a newly released book in Sweden,:"The most beautiful gift",-raises this question...
And it has started a heated debate..
But the book points to studies,where test tube children are suffering from this,when they find out the reason for Dad´s abscence. Inmany cases,children gets shocked and suffers psychological from this.Even suicide attempts have been the result,when the truth came out..
Many Mom´s don´t tell the truth,and when some kids eventually found out,-the shock was even greater.... And when it came to tell the truth,even wrong Men where pointed out as Dad´s...
This phenomena" is even promoted by politicians,as,-Lena Hallongren spoke in the Swedish Parl.6/4,where she said:"It´s not acceptable that women longing for a child should be discriminated by it´s marital status"
discriminated?For being single?
But is insemination the right way to go,even though people are capable of getting a child?Isn´t adoption a better solution?
Are children becoming a "luxury item",-something that can be bought and sold?
A few clicks away,-the person can choose whoever she finds most suitable to become "father",-and who has the best genes...
But everything can be sen from 2 sides,-so who´s right or wrong,is probably hard to tell...
But if surveys show that many children actually suffers psychological,isn´t it about time to question this industry?
Good article,but even though it´s meant for the US,-I would like to contribute.
Over here,-many companies,(inc.the one I work for),are employing/hiring young people,and for the sole reason,-lower costs.
And hiring staff from lowcost nations as well,-and calling it "experts",-which of course it´s not..It´s all about wage dumping....
Meanwhile,educated,skilled midaged people remaining unemployed year in,year out,-til they´re put into early retirement...
And the reason for that,is that,that it doesn´t "count" as unemployed.....So Sweden can show the world alright unemployment figures,even though it´s complete false....
So,people over 40 are having a hard time finding a job..,and it´s getting worser....
