Do not carve on stone or wood, "He was honest" or "He was good." Write in smoke on a passing breeze Seven words… and the words are these, Telling all that a volume could, "He lived, he laughed and… he understood."
This is another one I treasure.I think it is a good model of how we should view our role as parents. And - Blizzard - this is how you came across in a previous post when you spoke of your daughter's achievement - it has nothing to do with intelligent - that comes in many different forms.
And a woman who held a babe against her bosom said, "Speak to us of Children." And he said: Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself. They come through you but not from you, And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you. You may give them your love but not your thoughts. For they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls, For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you. For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday. You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth. The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far. Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness; For even as he loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable. from The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran
Is this an OCD illness - cos if it is - I can help and let you clean my house just for the pure thrill. LMAO - when my mother comes to visit she brings her own rubber gloves - that is what I call love!!!
Blizzard will be performing his famous magic trick. He is going to make several beers disappear - and wait for it - materialize a jar of vegemite out of his ... wait a minute ... I have got that wrong!!! I will have to double check whether the vegemite is with or without the glass jar. Either way - it will be impressive!!!
geez - if we had someone who had technical knowledge we could live stream all the action and make it an interactive get together. Sadly Ralf - all I can offer you - and yes it is poor compensation - is the possibility of some interesting photos - I am sure we can all raise our glasses and have a drink for absent CS Forum Friends.
RE: Who is the best Star Trek Capitan...and why?
