RE: Poll On Instate Tuition For Illegal Immigrants

In state tuition for illegal immigrants? Hell no, why should they pay a lower price for an education than I do? I live in one state and attend a school in another state. I pay for the privilege of this out of state education and anyone else not living in the state as a legal citizen or a US citizen should pay their way too.

I choose to further the education of my people, my NATIVE people, so I chose for my tuition and my dollar to go to a tribal college. I am not an ND Native American but I am an Alaskan Native and I pay out of state tuition. Illegal immigrants and their illegal children should pay too, in fact they shouldn't even be allowed to attend college in the US as illegal immigrants. Its real simple, get your crap together, naturalize and then go to school or get the hell out!

RE: Modern Family Portrait:Mom,Child&Plastic Dad....

interesting as the same holds true for adoptees. Take for instance Marie Osmonds adopted son who committed suicide.

RE: Modern Family Portrait:Mom,Child&Plastic Dad....

lol, you were close

RE: Modern Family Portrait:Mom,Child&Plastic Dad....

If you want to try again, let me know. I work with many adoption focused counselors and can give you a referral and one of them with do phone counseling with you.

RE: Modern Family Portrait:Mom,Child&Plastic Dad....

This is so very true. Every state in the US has a requirement to provide non-identifying information to adult adoptees. In the case of our mother, I spent 20 years, every six months filling out requests for non-identifying information and having my mother sign them to send to the state of Hawaii to open her adoption record. We knew her birth mothers name, and her adoptive parents were deceased it never should have been an issue.

last year the state finally sent it. My search tactics changed with the new information. For example, her adoption decree listed her birth mother as 17 at the time of her birth, the non-identifying information we received listed her as being 21 at the time of birth.

We hired the confidential intermediary in Hawaii to look for birth family, he came up empty handed and turned the file back over to the court system in Hawaii. The court opened the adoption record and sent it to us. With her birth mothers date of birth I was able to find her within minutes. She passed away in 1994. But not to be deterred I ordered the death certificate and got her daughters name from it and called her and talked with her, matched up all the information I had and our mom has been talking to her sister ever since!

RE: Modern Family Portrait:Mom,Child&Plastic Dad....

Often what people were led to believe about adoption being strictly closed, are not true, in the US it depends on what state you were born in and in what year. Quite literally even closed adoption records can be opened by court order with just cause.

RE: Modern Family Portrait:Mom,Child&Plastic Dad....

If you ever do truly want to look for him, let me know. This is what I do. I am very heavily enmeshed in the adoption search and reunion arena. I find people. You dont have to have been adopted, and just keep in mind, that often our parents tell us things about our absent parents to avoid us being hurt, the situation may or may not be what you think.

RE: Modern Family Portrait:Mom,Child&Plastic Dad....

Sadly, most adoptees regardless of their adoptive parents financial status suffer greatly from the trauma of adoption, it is called Adopted Child Syndrome.

For an adoptee, they constantly suffer the trauma of having no identity, not knowing where they came from, not having medical history of their birth/natural parents, not looking like anyone else in their "family".

For many, their adoptive parents, dont tell them they are adopted and often the adoptee makes the discovery after a traumatic health situation or when the adoptive parents die. These are called Late Discovery Adoptees and they suffer even more trauma.

RE: Modern Family Portrait:Mom,Child&Plastic Dad....

To further your statement. Millions of foster children are awaiting homes. However, prospective adoptive parents have no interest in foster care adoption, rather they want a newborn and there are not millions of newborns needing homes, hence the reason for kidnapping babies, selling babies through black market adoption etc.

Adoption is a multi-billion industry with the least expensive adoption starting at $40,000.00. If you have that much money and more often than not, more than that, you can "buy" a newborn at anytime.

RE: Is it true that women do nothing but eating ,wearing and visiting ?

I agree

RE: Is it true that women do nothing but eating ,wearing and visiting ?

nah I dont want to start a thread.

I think its what we are wired to handle as children. If your parents had very gender defined roles then your brain adapted. My dad took me to the construction site all the time, I worked on diesel engines, boom trucks, cranes, the works and had an awesome time learning all about them and how to use them. As a single parent, I always repaired everything in my home, took out the trash, changed my oil and air filters and knew what the hell I was talking about when I had to take my truck into the shop, the shop guys knew they couldn't get one over on me and I got my stuff done.

My son grew up convinced that women were by far the most strict disciplinarian because I did it alone.

On the flip side to that, I also cook, clean, sew, crochet and do crafty things.

RE: Women should know their place and stop being so selfish.

I wike it too

RE: Is it true that women do nothing but eating ,wearing and visiting ?

RE: Are you middle-aged and not working?

Been there done that. In my employment working for the State of Alaska, I often traveled to remote native villages, via, plane, boat, sled dog and even in a truck that was specifically made to keep the polar bears out. Of course in full arctic gear, to include, kuspuks, fur parka, gauntlets and mukluks and seal skin when warranted to keep the water out. I'm not above a parka to say the least.

RE: Are you middle-aged and not working?

It is very funny how people automatically assume that one is unemployed because they are lazy or because they refuse to except just any job. Honestly this just isn't the case, especially for myself and Amahlala.

A large portion of the employment I apply for is federal employment, specifically in the Indian Health Services. The reasons for this are many, I have Indian Hiring Preference, I have a proven track record in the Indian Health with promotions, raises, excellent performance evaluations, know the regulations etc. Despite all of that, Indian Health is extremely competitive amongst Indian Preference individuals.

In applying for federal positions, I cannot dumb down my resume because my experience, expertise, promotions, education, rewards, past employment etc are all in my electronic personnel file. Omission in federal applications is deemed fraudulent. Hence I dont omit and the reason why I cant dumb it down.

Now one of the problems I have in omitting or dumbing down my resume in private sector employment is that in most cases, due to my GS level with the federal government, I would have to omit the federal government on my application which in turn would result in large gaps in my employment history. So, just isn't an option for me.

I have moved to where the jobs are so to speak, have no children at home, no animals at home and have very few possessions. In fact all of mine and Amahlala's possessions can literally fit into my Pontiac Vibe. We are always ready to pack up the car and go where the jobs are.

I have a health condition that prevents me from doing any kind of manual labor, simply because I dont have the dexterity or muscle strength in my hands. Though have done this type of work as well probably 20 years ago, until my health condition deteriorated. So, no manual labor.

I have applied at McDonalds, Burger King, and all other fast food. Have applied for Wal-Mart, UPS, Fed Ex, etc, no luck.

I have applied for receptionist jobs, admin asst jobs, office manager jobs and the works and nothing.

It certainly isnt for lack of applying anywhere and everywhere I could think of. I walk into businesses all the time, ask for an application, fill it out on the spot, hand over a resume when applications arent available, I have bulleted resumes, CV's, chronological resumes, the works. Still nothing.

I am in school full time, taking 16 credits a semester, despite the fact that I currently have 6 degrees, just to increase my skill set. I volunteer on a daily basis with several organizations, I write articles, I do the damn thing and still nothing.

Lazy? I think not!
Unwilling to move to where the jobs are? Not at all!
Applying outside my comfort zone? absolutely!

RE: Are you middle-aged and not working?

Haha what prestige? money? or for that matter recognition?

lol its all done to help other people

RE: If I had a Million Dollars???

Thats the understatement of the year Cletus. If I had a million dollars right now I would be running for cover to get away from that pesky ex-husband of mine that keeps turning up like a damn bad penny

RE: If I had a Million Dollars???

If I had a million dollars in todays economy, I would not be rich by any means. However, I would be a little more comfortable than I am currently. I would take Cletus on a cruise and then she and I would go home to Vegas

RE: Is their someone in your life that

I would like to thank my big sister Cletus...known to you folks as Amahlala.

Don't ever forget Cletus that Bunny FuFu loves youcool

RE: write a word that starts with the last letter of word of person above you (only animal names)
