Should I now agree or disagree? Either way will put me in the pit you just dug up there
No, I see what you say, and picking a fight on a site is not really my thing, I prefer arguments in real life. Jumping senseless outcries does not attract me, but sometimes I simply cant not stop myself.
My partner must be a free thinking human, not a head nodder. I do respect if their is some diplomatics though.
But backing others statement by just cheering on is not that wrong at all, even if you did not add your own fact to it. Someone said what you would have said, and then you can do nothing more than nod and shake hands.
I shows support for a view, and I prefer that one to complete silence.

Tell her you would love to have her as company for the cinema / dinner / coffee whatever your plans are, and do MEAN IT.
Ask her the questions you would be prepared to answer if asked yourself. Don't worry about failures, we all have them, and chances are that if she go with you on a date, she will find your flaws what makes your charm.
We have a beach not far from here where I am a frequent visitor. Don't allow dogs, but you wouldn't need it either. But of course, to see means also to show, and that filters people out quickly.
