You look at a profile, or listen/read what someone has to say, then to find out they are only saying either what they think people want to hear, or only going for shock/brownie points.

I know many of you don't much care for my views, but they are mine based on what I have learned and seen. I don't say what I think anyone wants to hear, nor do I go for shock value when I am serious (I am liely too when joking though). I find it really distateful when you find out someone does not think for themselves but says only what they think you or their friends would want to hear. That is being a false person, and not much of what you would or at least I would want to be around. I can deal with someone that disagrees with me, as long as they can back up what they say, or be original in their views, what I don't like are those that speak lines they hear from someone else, or some group/clique or what ever. Those that can at least even if wrong show they tried to make their own minds up on what they say, I can both respect, and call a friend even if we disagree, as I do have many friends that do not agree with many of my views, but we respect our rights to think this way because we all did our own research, or used our own experiences, to come up with our own views.

How many of you would rather be with someone, either in a relationship, or just friends with, that can make intelligent views that either agree or disagree with you?

Should I now agree or disagree? Either way will put me in the pit you just dug up there confused

No, I see what you say, and picking a fight on a site is not really my thing, I prefer arguments in real life. Jumping senseless outcries does not attract me, but sometimes I simply cant not stop myself.

My partner must be a free thinking human, not a head nodder. I do respect if their is some diplomatics though.

But backing others statement by just cheering on is not that wrong at all, even if you did not add your own fact to it. Someone said what you would have said, and then you can do nothing more than nod and shake hands.

I shows support for a view, and I prefer that one to complete silence.

As long as thinking goes before speaking, all should be involved, sane or not. It's part of our social training.

I've a met a few men, who don't even read the profiles. Some didn't read my profile before meeting me. Those were not great dates either and I didn't have a good time.

I like a person be it partner or just friend that has their own views on things. But getting into arguments with people that do not share your views isn't going to make that person see your view any clearer. If I strongly disagree with a person I just met then I probably wouldn't talk to that person again. But if it's with a partner or friend then agree to disagree. It also all depends on the topic. If it's something trivial then no big deal. But if its a topic that I feel strongly about then probably wouldn't want that person in my life.

what ever I posted on my profile is what ever I am (or my own perception of who I am) I pointed out a couple of neg points there too...

But it all comes down to the readers' own perception, along with the observations made in the forums of that person. Bottom line: don't meet, or even interact with anyone until you are comfortable and all of your inital questions are answered & curiosities are satisfied.

Different people will probably take this either way (Considering your opinions interesting or finding them out of place).

I may disagree with you but I will listen to what you have to say without shouting you down or twisting the subject...as long as I get the same back, we can disagree harmoniously.
