You've never worked in sales... we thrive on knock backs...
Lol... I have this 68 yo sales colleague who uses the volumn strategy... He gets "lucky" several times a week (or he claims to... lol) Have to admire the little blue pills at his age...
There is absolutely no "Proof" that sunshine causes skin cancer. Yet most of us "slip, slap, slop" because we respect the opinion of experts in medical science who tell us sunshine "might" cause skin cancer.
The experts in climate science say we are causing climate change. Their predictions have been correct so far - which "prooves" in the scientific sense they are correct. Why would we not listen to them?
Can you find even one climate scientist who says we are not causing climate change? One peer reviewed paper that disputes it?
I think I may be going against the accepted veiw on this site... but...
The Intergovernmental Pannel on Climate Change in their 1980 report(yes thirty one years ago) predicted that unless immedeate change to carbon emmissions were taken, the next 100 years would see increasingly extreme weather events; both warmer and colder summers, colder and warmer winters, and increasing droughts and floods. (Not long after their report was issued was the first Somalian drought and famine, of Bono fame...) but overall the global temperature would increase...
The result was that most governments (including the US) accepted the science, and the Kyoto accord was penned...
And the global temperature has increased since 1980 0.55 C on average... (http://co2now.org/ and
an american government site) Almost exactly what was predicted in 1980 (they predicted 0.65 C but that was before the invention of Personal computers...)
I would love to see a peer reviewed science paper that refutes climate change, or the human cause of it... But I haven't ever been able to find any... (I'm not talking about political propoganda, but real science... )
Now I remember as a kid getting told that littering was bad. And I thought, what does it matter if I, as a little kid, throw my bubble gum wrapper out the car window as we are driving?... The argument about our contribution to CO2 sounds just the same... what does it matter? It is just a little litter on the side of the highway...
But a few drinks a week are a plus... they ward off heart problems, high blood preasure, strokes, and cancers... maybe a few glasses of red wine, and you would hit 100?
RE: what an absolute laugh
The ratio of ladies to men in lawn bowling increases with age... by the time you hit 81 you have it made...lol...
