All you need to do to answer that question is to listen to solo work. The best of John Paul George or Ringo, pales in comparison to the WORST of The Beatles. Listn to "Flying" or "Wild Honey Pie". While those are transitional songs that move their respective albums along. indidually even Paul Mcartney (the king of schmaltz), would blanch at their inclusion today.
True, there are worse thingsd in life, but, it does have a trickle down effect on other aspects of life. By bridging our rights all the PMRC succeeded in doing was creating more and more work for the lawyers of our great country, so that we could get bogged down by even more beaurecratic pap.In essence, what it did, was to throw the baby out with the bathwater. It produced no real results by hoodwinking parents with the everpresent: "We are doing this to SAVE your children" argument. Which is nothing but pure, unadulterated dross. The dross emenatedf from the fact that the meduims were obfuscated (intentionally?). the PMRC were (are?) concerned with first amendment violations. Yet, at the hearings, examples from music videos were on display. While there may be ancillary concerns that were met by the inclusion of the videos, that almost entirely missed the point. The ban was on the lyrical content ALONE. And besides (and this is a point that has always bothered me personally), why not emphasize that there are other forms of music than those that the PMRC finds offensive. The trickle down effect is one that politicians and lawyers have always used to great effect. Something else that exists to this day, is the conflict of interest which has sanitized music, movies and other forms 0of entertainment.
What will inevitably cause the fall of the US is the shocking lack of apperception that we all , politicians especially, have concerning our role in the world. Those who dont learn from history are doomed forever to repeat it, and of we continue our Sisyphean approac to history, i dont think that things will turn out well for us.
I used to work security berfore there were security guards. Back when it was all visual survalance. Anyway, when you look up at the ceiling in any store, you will see cylindrical, black plactic bubbles that contain curvelliance cameras. This is, obviously, done as a deterence to shoplifting. What i found at the Target that i worked at, was that , of the 73 cameras at the store, only 53 camera angles were available. So, do the math. Visual survelliance, while meant to, and in MOST cases, does deter crime, is meant to get in the head of the potential shoplifter, it gives the stores a false sense of seccurity. It really is nothing more than all sound and fury amounting to absoleutely nothing.
Not the only one, but the most recent, was the San Francisco Giants signing of Barry Zito for 7 years at &125 million. For that kind of money im sure that they were expecting more than 50+wins in five years.
The Nick and Artie Show on stations all over the country. It's also on XM radio, Extreme Talk, i believe. It features Nick DePaulo, the stand-up comedian who also does cameos on Tru tv's "World's Dumbest" series; an Artie Lange, who used to be on The Howard Stern Show
I suppose if a film is good, it doesnt really matter. But, in some cases, that extra (unnecessary?) few minutes can make all the difference as to whether you check your watch every two minutes or not.
Even though it is a typical Disney tear-jerker: Eight Below. It's aboout a leader of expeditions with dogs in Antartica and, because of a storm, they have to leave the dogs stranded. And, then it's about all the things that happened over that subsequent winter. It's typical in that it anthropomorphises dogs in an al,ost uunbelievable way. But, it's a tear-jerker about dogs so it's OK.
Add a designated pinch runner in baseball. That way we dont have to see all these old, lumbering behemoths running the bases. And, just like the DH it will extend the careers of players. Besides, who says that the home run is the most exciting part of the game. To me, it's the triple, inside the ;park home run or the steal of home. Whe's the last time you saw that! The last time i saw it (not that it hasnt happened since), was when Jacoby Ellsbury og The Boston Red Sox did it two years ago.
Im the biggest Dexter fan! My only complaint is that the season's are not long enough. So that what they wind up doing, is having a conventional story arc of 8, 9 or 10 episodes. Then, they realize that they only have a few episodes left to tie up all the loose ends. But other than that, I have no complaints.
It's not a podcast anymore, but since you mentioned that you were a Howard Stern fan, Artie Lange is back on the radio. He does a radio program with Nick DiPaolo that got picked up by the Fox sports network. You can also get it on XM radio, but your local affiliate may carfry it as well.
MLB free agent singings that didnt work out
Where do myou begin, there are so many. How about Albert Puljols signing with the Ananheim Angels.
