with the strong societal, political and philisophical undertones of many current threads....
I thought I would ask.....
If you had to choose, in support of your beliefs and opinions
would you rather have;
lawyers or guns or money
you can only choose 1 of the 3
To be clear this is asked in the spirit of; Healthy and positive discourse. No assumption, presumtion, preconceived notions, angry emotion no consternation, degradation or any form of defamation... is intended, implied or otherwise. any incidents, no matter their perceived intent is anything more than coincident.
Have offered this diatribe I ask again for you to set the rhetoric side.
I have memories....of my grandfather. I always saw him as larger than life...(He was also a big Creole/Cajon from the bayou)
He died when I was still rather young....so I must admit, I really don't know where the lines blurr between how wonderful he really was....and how magical my memories of him have become over the years.
But now that I really think about it.......when it comes to those we look to as mentors and heros, really are a product of the needs of our souls at the time, blended with who these people really are.
I am very thankful for this fact.......not only because I find comfort in the image of my grandfather I have held for all these years but also because I hope that my 2 daughters will forever look at me in that larger than life vision.
I know that I have sought, strived & struggeled to be a superhero to them but I realize that I have just been human.....
fostering memories offers so very much to the human condition. the mysteries of life will likely remain mysteries for many generations. Yet, I thank my grandfather for breaking at least one mystery for me....
Each one of us can in fact make an impact on the world.....because we can impact somebody in our life and/or the world around us....who may impact another, who may impact another.....and so it goes!
Education does not have to be acedemic by any means. Your point about manners and respect are both attributes that are learned, thus attributes of an educated person.
What defines an educated person is not the same as what defines the education a person has.
Sony batteries are in their laptops but Apple also uses batteries that are made by Sony.
All 3 companies have information on their websites as to how to yours replaced if needed.
I do give them credit...the process is easy and painless. fill out a form on the website of your laptop company....they will send you a replacement. They will also send packaging to return defective batteries at no cost so that they can be recycled and/or disposed of properly.
Not in defense of companies that make faulty stuff...but life can be imperfect. It at least appears that they are attempting to do the right thing......
Why is it so so easy to "Get married" and hard to "get divorced"?
Does it not make sense forn it to be the other way around?
To get a drivers license, you have to take both a written and functional test.
Yet to enter into a life-long contract all you need is a few $$$ and the willingness to stand in line for a few minutes. Okay a few places require a blood test...but not many.
To get divorced you need nothing more than a few $$$
Someone can believe something....but the fact that they believe it does not make it the truth.
The truth is just the truth....irrespective of what one may believe.
So I offer the next thought. What if your belief is presented with the "facts" that prove a truth that is not what you believed all along? Now your belief has to look truth in the mirror....now what?
Professor speaks with scientific clearity. So I say again....the truth is just the truth.
Just because someone has a belief based on what they know does not change the fact. If you watch David Blaine do an illusion right in front of you and you believe it was magic.....does that make it a fact??
So, I ask...is truth fact or what you believe?
There are strong arguments on both sides. Just curious
She Came in Through the Bathroom Window.........
but where the hell did she come from???
