I checked the prices for the VCR and DVD (one unit) thing'o today. They range from 189 Euro (Display model reduced) to 348 Euro ... as my car is again needing a repair... and its got priority over the DVD/Video transfer I will need the 400 Euro for my vehicle for now... When my tax return reaches me ... I may get that machine.

Now you nearly make me regret having used perfect birth control all my life...
How much fun is that, spending owns own kids money, of course for their needs. Well, only draw back, I dont particularly enjoy shopping .... huning for the right sizes, trying on, and reselecting, finding staff, etc...

However, I am right now experiencing the maximum credible accident or the worst case scenario with respect to my video recording.

I am living through my personal VCR-Chernobyl and havent got the nerves to explain why and how I am on the brink in a state between and and will now and and get more in order to overcome my misery

I should have never provoked fate ... by opening this thread, voicing I have many a back-up VCR ... when now instead of four I am down to two

For ten years I kept in contact with all my European friends... with snail mail.

Cumbersome, expensive, long delays but it worked.

My father got a letter and another envelope with a cut up newspaper (all adds taken out) once a week.

My mother got two audio tapes (each 90 min) every fortnight.

Phone calls were out of the question.

So if you wanted to communicate and lived abroad, it was was possible.
