This happens most of the times when they are broken down mentally cos of the deeds of their loving ones. turning away from ones fellow man and giving all her love to an animal shows her anger over her fellowman. indirectly it says that "animal is better than you"

We should love animals not to hurt others but give our affection and care over the living beings of this earth. We all are relations in one web.

I did not mix them but Muslims, they have made these lists. Anyway relatively it is less, comparing with the non-Muslims. I think the reason is they are so stick to their religion. And good scientists never stick to a belief till he find out some proofs. If a scientists stick on to a belief he/she will limit himself as well as his/her experiments. Cos they won't think beyond their mental boundaries
