'Have a light steam' to someone who goes into bathhouse. It is not in Ireland though, it is in may homeland in Latvia where people say that.

At the wedding, it is a custom to take veil off the bride at midnight and dress both bride and groom in old time clothes to look like man and wife 100 years ago, quite ridiculous I would say! laugh Everyone else is having fun though!

In England, in some counties, is the option of any guest to kiss the bride. This is a real kiss and was first thought of as a way of a former suitor to kiss goodbye.
The custom ceases after the wedding day.,

In Latvia, steeling the bride has also long been a custom. The groom then must find her and give a ransom to get her back. It used to end in fights though, so probably not a great custom. I don't know if people still are doing this, but they were when I was younger.

there is a custom in my country which is similar to your example, lady, such as, brother of bride let the bride enter in a room then locked the door. when bride groom gives him money, brother opens the door and give her to bride groom. this custom has been still going on

A good old British working class tradition is to seemingly despise everybody from all neighbouring towns and to fight them, repeatedly, just for the laugh.

Maybe this is one reason why the French surrendered and we didn't.

Poorer Italian-Americans here who can't afford a large wedding reception for everyone, just have someone run into the church towards the end of the ceremony and holler "the Concrete is here"! uh oh
