I am because we made it on time, hun, but....I just did what my heart told me to do. The doctor told me something really deep, he said: Tonight you didnt look with ur eyes, you looked with ur heart and that's why we could save him.
I was on my way to having dinner with some friends to this very nice restaurant I've been trying to go for months now. On my way traffic was really heavy, pretty weird for a sat night here, suddenly as I was passing a car accident I noticed one boy in the car was not moving and a woman was screaming , nobody seemed to care or try to stop and help, I stopped my car, in front of the crash, got down and went towards the woman, I tried to calm her down, her son was in the car and could not move, so I lend her my mobile and she made some calls, the ambulance seemed to be taking forever and as there was a hospital close by I offered to take them and she said yes, we arrived, and the doctor said if we had waited longer the boy could have died.
I'm no saint and is not the first time I do something like this, needlesss to say I didnt feel like going to the restaurant anymore. And that got me thinking, in this world we're living now, with computers, mobiles, ipods, internet and so much...where is our heart? Where is our soul? Why dont we care? Cant believe people passing by, watching this woman desperate and yet do NOTHING about it. You dont need to know the person to offer help, you might be in their shoes someday.
I do care, do you???
