I do too sometimes or a soft drink in the summer if it's actually warm (in Ireland!!). But I think beer is probably the most drunk drink in pubs generally, just a hunch.
I would say beer most popular in regular pubs. Except in a wine bar or a cocktail bar! Wine probably most popular among women. Not all, I hasten to add! :)
