Fluffy can be nice sometimes! lol. You're right though, it's nothing new, and he's a guy in drag with a beard, so what! :) Here's Dana International with Viva La Diva
Cross cultural music offering is good. Anything where cross culture makes people smile, enjoy themselves and mix together has to be good. If they all just got up on the stage and sang the song with no staging whatsoever, very few would go to it or watch it. Variety is good. Especially for entertainment. It is a song contest but also needs to be a show for tv and entertainment purposes. The horse racing comparison is a bit harsh, I think. :)
the bearded drag act is also a human being with a very good singing voice, singing a very good song. Netherlands song was also very good and came second and they were a man and a woman playing guitar and singing. Other good songs did well also. There's only one winner out of 26 songs.
Really? I would hate to think a guy was pretending to be interested in something I was interested in, whatever it was. That's so patronising. lol at godless, does that mean you think they're pagans? heathens?
I'm not big into astrology, reiki etc. but I'm not against it either. Astrology can be fun but I think you'd have to really know it fully for it to work for you, and I couldn't be a*d with going to that much bother.
Haha, poor Wade! She's still a he really, as she's a drag queen, hence easier to grow a beard. His name is Tom. Conchita is his alter ego. She seems like a lovely person. Should have been born a female. Like some females should have been born males. Maybe mother nature was a bit distracted at the time. They deserve the same respect as someone born without a limb or born blind and the rest of us.
Have to admit, am a Eurovision fan! Conchita was great. Well deserved win. I loved Netherlands too and Norway. Norway should have done better. Some other good songs there too. Pity they tend to get forgotten after. Yep it's all over for another year.
Ah yeah, that was a good catchy song too. Lot of good songs disappeared. Was hard to beat Alexander Rybak with Fairytale that year.
If you get to see it tonight, watch out for Netherlands and Norway. Netherlands song is like a Johnny Cash/June Carter song. Norway song is a good ballad and sounds a bit like Elbow. Have a feeling it will either be Greece or Austria that will win though.
Loved the Wild Dances one too. Not so keen on Lordi. Here's another Eurovision classic from 1979. Spot the Phil Lynott lookalike in the Orchestra. Ah the days when they had orchestras. Note 70's technology! :)
I think there's still a bit of block voting on the night but not as bad as it was since they brought back the jury. At least we don't have to worry about winning it and the cost of hosting it! haha! You're right about getting away from the riverdance stuff, time we moved on from it.
No you weren't. Great song for a Bond movie. Great voice too. Bookies favourite. My Top 5: Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Greece and San Marino (first time qualifying Marty said!)
Who watched it? Who's a fan? I enjoy it to a certain extent, all the countries coming together and the excitement of the voting. But some of the songs are cringey! We were definitely better than Poland and Slovenia I think! If block voting wasn't an element, I would put Netherlands, Greece and Norway in top three.
Of course it is! And if someone loves you, they will want to be fair to you. It should come natural with genuine love. And it shouldn't be a chore or a duty. If one person is being fair and the other isn't, sooner or later there will be resentment and misery.
