Dont really know to much about all that stuff ,{am a bit ignorant of it all .
But funnily enough i do get on with certain people who are of a particular birth sign , {how uncanny}
I dont believe in it so and wouldnt be interested in someone who was, more nonsense and looking for reasons for everything instead of just taking responsbility for themselves.

I do beleive if you have your chart done, depending on your rising, sign sun, moon, etc. It depends on more then just alone your astrological sign. I do believe. It would be a more extensive study to really see the compatibility aspect. PEACE HH
The chinese calenders generally do keep track of planet, star alignments and such. I have noticed there may be some traits that might be able to be pasted to certain birth "signs".
In the end, to me, it's yet another way of profiling that will never be any more fully accurate than another type. It's a different type of profiling. Environment, up bringing, choices, and experiences will still be the primary make up and basis for individual reasoning, actions, and views.
It still comes down to the individuals involved whether friends, enemies, lovers, family, strangers, or acquaintances.
I believe in the power of being able to talk to women about astrology as if it meant something. Along with reiki, homeopathy, the healing power of crystal skulls and many other mystical new-agey bullplops that women from the godless parts of the world tend to believe in.
In science I have read that the moon controls the tides and large bodies of water.
I read that clams and some other crustaceans that are put into bodies of water away from their native spot, open and close to the tides of the original tides although miles away.
So if we humans are something like 98% water, why would we not be affected by the moon. and if we are affected by the moon, why not other planets in our solar system?
the question is - are humans smart enough to make theories that explain these influences on us mass based on our date, time and place of birth?
kettleson: Have just had a re think about my answer , to clarify , this just isnt partners , this is also work related things as well .
I agree like w/ my children, . It says we are not compatible. We all love, get along. Yet, I certainly do not have to continue to be their mother for the next hundred years, as in cooking , cleaning etc. So in this case. Let them go , I do not mind. Just call and of course bring gifts, flowers, hugs, kisses. I complain and complain. Yet all I can do is cry when they graduate, or go to University. I am so crazy in love with them. Now on to ME. I am ready to have a man that loves life and can handle my love. Cuz I am a wonderful person who knows who and what I am and ready to get DOWN. HH

It's all airy fairy kinda stuff. It isn't computing how we are individually large bodies of water..collectively perhaps? However there is a notion that the full moon brings out the crazies. The moon being the closest planetry body to the earth would seem the obvious answer to why only it affects us and not the planets. Another reason is I thought it must be earth's moon for a reason so after a little looksee, I see that someone states that it orbits around the earth and not around the Sun like all the planets do. From primitive apes to present day scientists, and how we the human race have progressed in leaps and bounds I think we are plenty smart enough.. loopy as the ideas sometimes are..and too smart for own good sometimes. Not saying I believe in it all or give credence to it, nor seriously believe parts of it. It's simply food for thought.
JeanKimberley: the question is - are humans smart enough to make theories that explain these influences on us mass based on our date, time and place of birth?
JeanKimberley: actually my sister is a certified astrologer
A-ha... I just fell into that one didn't I with my response, since your sister is an astrologer.

Really? I would hate to think a guy was pretending to be interested in something I was interested in, whatever it was. That's so patronising. lol at godless, does that mean you think they're pagans? heathens?
I'm not big into astrology, reiki etc. but I'm not against it either. Astrology can be fun but I think you'd have to really know it fully for it to work for you, and I couldn't be a*d with going to that much bother.
I used to think that it astrology meant something, but I am more inclined now to believe that birth order in your family is of more importance when choosing a life partner.
Some people believe astrology can help, and its only when 2 people think the same then they would make a real go of it. But does it have the legs to carry you both to the end? The jury is out on this.
Experiences that we go through in our family shapes the people that we become.I'm reading a book on this subject at the moment by Kevin Leman, and I would recommend everyone to look into this subject when considering their choice of partner.

I will say this: There are many things in this universe that we do not understand. Just because Astrology cannot be fully explained does not necessarily mean there is nothing to it. I don't understand Saturn. But Saturn exists, in spite of my not understanding it. I will never figure women out. But women are here. Get my meaning?

I am not the kind to fall for a lot of hoo doo voo doo, but I firmly believe that we shouldn't just toss something out because it sounds like a dream or fantasy. Remember, not so very long ago it was adamantly believed that no one could dive in the ocean farther than a hundred feet, and a belief held for many years that a human could not reach a velocity of more than 30 mph. We of course know those are both not true. Stay open- minded, but not blank- minded.
miclee: Why do the people who claim there is nothing to astrology so perfectly match what their horoscopes say about them?
I've often blown people away, men in particular, by correctly guessing their star sign ..
Peoples' traits shine through when you've got to know them a little and those traits are usually true to their sign.
I certainly don't go looking for people who are meant to be my best match in that respect, on the other hand though time and time again I've found that the traits that tend to jar me are usually found to be those of a certain star sign yet I've gone there again and again dammit

Really really! And it's not just my farcical spiritualism, you should see my feigned display of interest whenever she's talking about emotions. Impeccable! But surely you don't actually want a man who shares all your girly interests?? I'd worry about a man who's particularly knowledgeable on or interested in the subjects of dresses and hair.
And Godless means Atheist, the sheer array of nonsense people will believe in now that they don't believe in God.
And why it's a moon I forgot to add to my post #23! I tend to tune out when you get down to the specifics, except for something of a desire to debunk it, which you'd have to do to test the claims. The astrological zodiac derived from the star constellations brings to mind that piece of toast which was claimed to have the image of the Virgin Mary on it (and apparently bought for a crazy sum)...must've been some toaster. Regarding the "face" on the moon, I have proof to put the rumours to rest once and for all. I call it the face in my room. It had such a startling effect (not for long) I took a photo of it (didn't know how to post it here). Granted it's not independently verifiable since I was the only one who saw it.. and no doubt it would raise questions of whether I poked and prodded it to produce the effect...I can only assure you I didn't. But my point is, if I don't believe it, why would anyone else. Back in the 50s or whenever, one physical manifestation of a ghostly entity was this thing called ectoplasm, which in photos looked to me like uncooked bread dough, stretched out and hanging out of a medium's mouth..surely the single most hilarious thing that's ever been dreamt up to fool people. We still have mediums but the ectoplasm has done a disappearing act. Charlatans exist to take advantage of the gullible, and the vulnerable As we know, when strong variables such as a religious/spiritual belief are involved people can become more susceptible to believing these things.
