In Ireland anyway, whatever about anywhere else, we're kinda known for not being great at taking compliments.
We've been known to say things like "Ah will ya stop! Not at all!" or "Ah stop, I'm mortified (or morto!) now!"
Some of us just laugh nervously and say thanks. Awwks moment.
Then you have the cynical suspicious people who wonder what those giving praise are after! Hmmm! Sometimes they're right though.
Credit or praise should be given when/where it's due as long as it's genuine.
