RE: If you....

Since he planned this without consideration for you...
He should be considered selfish and not all that interested in you as a person.
I would tell them to go and have fun, but don't expect me to be here for you when you return. Then make yourself unavailable, even if they change the plans, its too late, their true colors have been exposed.

RE: Why do younger men chase after older women here?

You asked WHY some chased, not IF we could meet.
But if I could... well... a different life maybe.

RE: What do you see.....

Selfish is them making you believe it was your fault...
(Not theirs.)
Whatever it was, don't fall into that trap.

RE: Most Loyal and sincere women are

"Most Loyal and sincere women are"

living nowhere near me...

RE: In 'CS the movie' which actor shall play you?

Marlon Brando (younger) or James Dean

RE: Intra-Gender Flirting. - Your Reaction

Actually, I do. I am a straightforward kind of guy who views all people as idiots who need to be put in their place... uh, I mean all obnoxious people need to be dealt with.

RE: Intra-Gender Flirting. - Your Reaction

I know and have many friends in the LGBT community.
I have been flirted with many times.
Until the guys know that I am totally straight, it doesn't bother me and at my age, maybe its even a little flattering.

But after I've made my stance clear, if it persists (and not in a friendly, teasing way) then it is time to put an end to it, at whatever level is required.

What really is bad is when those ladies flirt with me and I know full well that there is no way they would ever follow through... That's frustration!

RE: Is Connecting Singles a path for many to attain Artificial Intelligence ?

I think it is a method for some people to attempt to artificially inflate their appearance of being intelligent... Unfortunately, it usually backfires on the poor dunderheads as the rest of us can see right through the bull.

RE: ho ho ho

Schadenfreude (/'???d?nfr??d?/; German: ( listen)) is pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others. This word is taken from German and literally means 'harm-joy.' It is the feeling of joy or pleasure when one sees another fail or suffer misfortune.

RE: what make of car do you drive..?

In order of what I like best:
2007 Harley Davidson Road King
1987 Chevy Camaro IROC Z-28
1960 Plymouth Valiant (dropped in an upgraded 225ci slant 6 and positraction rear end) with a push button automatic transmission!
1997 Dodge Ram 1500 w/ towing package
2004 Volvo XC70
Unfortunately, the first 3 vehicles are pretty much summertime only vehicles...
BTW, I do my own wrenching and pretty much rebuilt the Camaro and Valliant myself.

RE: If you have fallen in love with a women - don't tell her!

If you allow yourself to become the dancing bear, then you are weak willed. Since you created this thread, assuming from your personal experiences... You must be an insecure and weak man.

Grow some balls. Take a chance in life and love. Don't let others take advantage of you (scammers must love your insecurity). What's the worse that can happen? Oh yea, you get rejected or she tries to use you. I know this might be hard for you, but, stand up for yourself and be proud.

RE: Cross-dressing (or, are men pretty in pink)

One year for Halloween
I dressed as a nun (with a chainsaw)...
Does that count?

RE: What are the chances of being bit by a shark?

Can't believe no one has said it yet...

SHARKNADO!!
rolling on the floor laughing laugh rolling on the floor laughing

Colorado is pretty land locked too, so I'm mostly in the clear.

I did read an article on the web about 2-3 months ago where someone has developed a pattern (think cammoflage or maybe shark optical illusion) for a wet suit that sharks cannot see (you). (Maybe someone can find that article and link it...)

RE: What physical aspect are you attracted to?

All I remember is:
"Idle hands are the Devil's playground."

RE: What physical aspect are you attracted to?

And cooking!

But aren't those warm activities how the hands keep warm on a cold day?

RE: What physical aspect are you attracted to?

Wouldn't 2 warm hands be better?

RE: Is it rude to just ignore an e-mail?

I would rather have a polite "thanks but no" as opposed to nothing at all. Otherwise, I am always tempted to try writing again. But then I try to write a polite message to begin with. Usually a little more then "Hey HMU" or "Wanna get it on?"... To those types of messages, who cares what they think?

RE: Do nice guys finish last?

Well, I haven't been recently...
But the question is why?

RE: Do nice guys finish last?

But, but,
I'm a good (nice) guy and a bad boy...
So am I totally screwed?

RE: the first artist you had a puppy crush on whether singer, artist, actor

Mary Ann from Gilligan's Island.
Short shorts, bare midriff, bright personality, a little cutie...
I watched that stupid show just 'cuz of her.
Now I'm showing my age.

RE: lighter side of life...this ole house....what to do

I've always had older homes.
I like to "make them mine" with regards to aesthetics.
But then, my brother is a contractor and I work with him for many years.
I have no fear.

RE: what should america do about all of the child immigrants

Tru, this is an entirely different thread that needs to be addressed.

RE: what should america do about all of the child immigrants

I can only hope I am half right and that those who are in power can be truely useful in a positive way with this situation.

RE: what should america do about all of the child immigrants

Like I said:

Are news articles biased and not showing true facts? Yes, probably most of them. The news media is a political tool after all, not an informational tool.

So, no, I hardly believe anything.

RE: what should america do about all of the child immigrants

PS
I served in the military, my sons served in the military. Every Christmas and Hanukkah we assemble gift baskets for those serving.
Most weekends I volunteer in The Handyman Services of Denver program to repair and modify homes of seniors.
Every other summer I participate in Habitat for Humanity somewhere in the US.
I am not without compassion, I just beleive there are proper channels for dealing with any situation.

RE: what should america do about all of the child immigrants

My rant continued, because you asked.

I think the US is inhumane and uncaring by the way we treat our own citizens. I don't see the public outcry there! What about the "donating" nations? Are they being humane and caring? I don't think so. Who is raising a big stink about those nation's behavior? Why aren't people travelling there to protest conditions? Two sides to every coin.

Are news articles biased and not showing true facts? Yes, probably most of them. The news media is a political tool after all, not an informational tool.

Are illegal immigrants NOT costing us anything? NO WAY. The immigrants that contribute to our economy and pay their own way are the LEGAL immigrants, with work visas or are attempting to become naturalized citizens. I totally encourage LEGAL immigration. Probably we need some specialized rules for legal immigration of minors... But it should not be an open door to anyone and all who can illegally find their way into this country. Illegal is illegal.

As I stated in some previous thread, My mother was a legal immigrant who became a naturalized US citizen. To be able to vote, she had to prove basic proficiency in English, US government, and I'm not sure what else. It took her 3 years of studying. She WANTED to be a citizen. This I support.

If someone just want to build a better life and not become a citizen, then there are student and a work visa programs that they can utilize. Note that people with work visas are required to pay taxes to support the social programs they utilize.

If you are politically or religously or racially persecuted, there are asylum programs. These I support.

Are there extenuating circumstances not covered? Probably and these should be addressed on a 1-by-1 basis.

Is our current illegal immigration situation not impacting our well being as a nation? Based on short term govermental costs, short term influx of diseases, short term problems with dealing with the great magnitude (sheer numbers) of the situation: It is impacting our nation in a negative way! And what about the long term impacts? I don't even know how to address those.

Bottom line:
Make a comprehensive and workable plan for legal immigration that can put the immigrant on an equal footing with other US citizens (and our educational requirements, after all I had to take English, civics, goverment, and history in all schools I attended).
Make a comprehensive and workable plan for visas and ensure that after the visas have expired, that person leaves the US.
Make a comprehensive and workable plan for ensuring that criminals are not allowed in under any circumstance.
Make a comprehensive and workable plan for swift extradition of anyone illegally here.

End of rant 2, since you asked.

RE: what should america do about all of the child immigrants

We can't take care of our veterans. We can't take care of our elderly, our homeless, our mentally ill, our unemployed. Our cities are declaring bankruptcy and trashing pensions and medical benifits for those who dedicated their lives to public service. Businesses are collapsing and screwing the workers who made them once profitable.

Hey, I've got a Great Idea! Lets open the floodgate and let anybody just send us their children (and adults and criminals) so that they don't have to take care of them anymore!

If we want to take in the poor and disadvantaged, I am willing to do that under certain conditions and requirements of them, and a clear process of naturalization and education... But only AFTER we fix our current screwed up system of care for those who are here and in need.

"Charity begins at home" and the way the greedy American big money / political system is going, there ain't none of that around here. There is no hope in the near future for that to change.

So who is going to take on this new additional burden? Not big money (the 1%). No, the man in the middle, the shrinking middle class, will be the one paying for this. Oh, and it gets even better! Most charities only average 10% of donated funds actually go to the cause for which it was intended. Now, some are better and some are worse. But we have some basic greed issues here that are untenable which need a solution so that when you and I do take on this new burden, we aren't just lining someone's pocket and actually helping those in need. Is political system the answer? Can our taxes successfully solve this situation? Given its recent track history, I doubt it.

Such is my cynical rant.

RE: what should america do about all of the child immigrants

Immediately send them all back...
