My Dad's family all lived in Plymouth; I was born in Dorset, went back to live in Plymouth in the eighties and bought a house in Cornwall in the nineties.

Currently staying with friends in north wales following the break-up of my marriage.

12 including this one and that is not counting the ones that I was subscribing to.

I got a lot more response from the paying ones but, I could not see the point in paying out money just to send a few messages and receive a few .... on average, I reckon I got about 3 personal messages per month.
Sometimes I got one message, then nothing further and other times, I got 2 or three messages per month but only to say Hi, how was I etc. Nothing in the line of dating came through .. although there was one very close call !!! She needed a friend to take her out and push her around in her wheelchair.

At this present time, I spend a lot of time here killing threads ... not intentionally, my stunning personality takes care of it for me.
There are two more 100% free sites where I have a couple of friends but, my best times are spent on the 'Playground' sites where anything and everything goes (just about); say what you like, heckle each other .. verbal jousting .. fantastic fun .............. but, most of my friends are in the U.S. which makes it slightly awkward as some are getting home from work when it is almost midnight here

I am here for friendship and if anything develops, great; otherwise, I've lost nothing.

I don't see that distance should form a barrier; not these days.
Koniqsberg has raised very sensible points but once you are fairly sure of each other, you need to meet and find out how you get on together.

I would be more than willing to go abroad, no matter how far, to meet the lady that has enchanted me; if it doesn't work out, fine but, unless you try, you will never know.
Sometimes you just have to take that leap into the unknown to find out things.

I can confirm that it definitely helps ....................... I stopped suffering hangovers when someone showed me that trick ... at least one pint, apparently, as quick as you can, then go to bed.
The hangover comes from dehydrating during sleep ... the water guards against that. See???

In the meantime ................... sorry sweetheart, self-inflicted injury .................. get me some Alice Cooper and Ozzy Osbourne CDs
