No I try to stay away from rallies as it's just to much on the bike in stop and go traffic, I do have a friend in Norway that rides a Harley that goes to that every year but this year he's here in the states doing a ride on route 66 from Chicago to LA. Someday I'd like to go over there and ride with him and the club he belongs to.
Dover, NH - PORTSMOUTH - A Newmarket woman faces two charges after authorities say she went on a sea cruise with her 2-year-old son with six times the legal limit of alcohol to operate a vehicle in her system. Holly M. Spreen, 34, of 26H Piscassic St. in Newmarket was arrested Friday at about 2:30 p.m. Tests indicated she had a blood-alcohol level of 0.49, police said.
"Most of us would be dead or in a coma," said Prosecutor Sgt. Corey MacDonald. "In 10 years, that's the highest one I've ever seen."
MacDonald said Spreen boarded the Thomas Laighton at the Isles of Shoals Steamship Co. when other passengers noticed her stumbling and other erratic behavior. "She dropped the child when crossing the gap between the dock and the boat," he said.
MacDonald said it is unclear how much alcohol she consumed on the ship. The Portsmouth Police Department was contacted by witnesses and police arrested her following the cruise.
"We brought her to Portsmouth hospital because of the level of intoxication in her blood," MacDonald said.
A 12-ounce beer has an alcohol content of 0.04 and alcohol dissipates in a person's system within an hour. The legal limit in New Hampshire to operate a motor vehicle is 0.08.
The boy has been left in the care of his father.
Spreen was arraigned Monday in Portsmouth District Court on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child. She is also charged with breach of bail condition because she had already been charged with simple assault from an incident last month in which police say she struck her husband.
If convicted, Spreen could face up to a year and jail and $2,000 fine on each Class A misdemeanor count.
Spreen is a special education teacher in Seabrook, according to the department's website. Her attorney said she has some issues in family court to resolve as well. He also indicated that Spreen has a personal breath test machine.
Spreen had already been free on $1,500 personal recognizance bail from the domestic violence incident. Judge Sawako Gardner set Spreen's new bail at $1,500 cash and $3,000 personal recognizance.
She must not have any unsupervised contact with her child, have no weapons and not use any alcohol or drugs under her bail conditions.
"If you are found to be imbibing in any way, you will be held on high cash bail," Gardner told Spreen.
I've thought hard about this today and came to the conclusion that I would not move as I have moved away from NH a few times now and just keep coming back, I was born and raised here and this is where most of my family is at.
