I'll be more specific for you .... the current look of Santa Claus as we know him today was actually started by Coca Cola in the 1930's as an advertisement to their product ... ie Santa drinking a coke instead of milk when he was delivering toys ..

When I had my confectionery shop, my biggest trading week was that leading up to Easter ... My sales figures were up over 1000 percent of any other week ... Darryl Lea, Pink Lady and Indulgent Belgium chocolates virtually walked out the door ...


I wished everyday could be Easter .... or Valentines or Mothers day


I agree any of these events are marvellous for retailers ....

Last year some idiots were out egging and my car was covered in it, my daughter is staying with me at the moment and her car is only a couple of months old .... se here is hoping it does not happen again this year ...

I had the bible rammed down my throat every day at school from the age of four to fifteen ... I was taught to fear questioning anything it said and was punished if I did question ...


just like on the internet, just because someone wrote it, this does not mean its the truth .... or at times anywhere near it ...


The upside is if there is No God then there is no heaven, therefore there is no devil and no hell .... and this has to be a good thing ... don't you think .....

You make good sense I must say ... though in fairness I think many of us fella's are also suffering the war torn syndrome ...

I definitely agree that meeting woman is way easier in the real world if you put yourself out there .... ie: singles groups, meetups and the old dinner table trick if your into this type of meeting ...

this could eXplain the names in the new testament ...


I LooK at books the bible and the coran and remember they were written by journalists of the day, and then I get to thinking why would they let the truth get in the way of a good story ??



and again I often wonder should these books be in the fiction or history section of the library ....


I remember reading somewhere sometime back that went if the three wise men were so wise, then how come they needed a star to guide them so they would not get lost ??


Some speculate that this star was indeed a ......


and Mickey, I thought they were all Jews, Israelites and Romans .... the story kind of unravels itself in place .....

how the 12 apostles have names like Peter, Matthew, Luke, John and so on ... I read somewhere where someone questioned these names over in the middle east when Jesus supposedly walked the earth ...


Now if they were Mohammed, Abdul, Asif, Omar ... would they not be more names of men in this region back then ?? .............................

Cigarettes, at least the smell of cigarettes and that of a smoker actually make me feel ill these days ...

My house mate moved out and even though she smoked out side, my home now just smells so much fresher ....
